Is a Very Faint Positive on a Test Still a Positive?

My hubs and I stopped ttc last month and I had been feeling weird all week-took a test after breakfast and it had one line. I threw it away after less than a minute and then dug it out of the trash(just had a feeling) and there was a second line-really faint. I am shaking! So I know I should take another later (and I will tomorrow) but is a faint positive still a positive? With myothers it was a strong positive immediately-5 days before aunt flo every time. Aunt flo is supposed to come tomorrow!!!! I have been nauseaus too-something else I never had a second of.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

It's funny you say that Baby Doos-we stopped trying because we wanted to focus on hubby's health and it was too heartbreaking month after month to get a negative-My husband even picked out the names. With my other 2 I definitely WASN'T trying to get pregnant.
I ust took another and got the same exact result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't go out today and buy another test because my husband has our carseats in his car!!!!! I do have one more test. Tomorrow morning I should gwet a better line-it's going to be a long night:)

I think it's positive - my first test was very faint - but I have a 5 year old to prove it was positive!

Just buy the kind that says Pregnant or Not Pregnant. Why wait until tomorrow?? There is no way I'd be patient enough for that. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Runner:

Take another test with your first morning urine and wait then.

I would not rush out and say you are pregnant. You aren't even late yet. Not trying to be Debbie Downer here - but really? You could be getting a cold...you could be getting symptoms from anything....

A line is a line, faint or not. Go buy another test for TODAY! Congrats!

I think everyone is missing a key piece of information - you said you threw it away and then dug it back out - how much later?

If it was past the 10-minute mark, it could be an evaporation line or what Rachel D. said.

If it was within the window the test instructions say, then it's positive - faint or strong, doesn't matter.

Update: To your SWH - if you got two faint lines, then you're pregnant. No question. That line only shows up when it detects the pregnancy hormone. Congrats!!!

The tests do expire after X amount of minutes... so I would retest just to make sure.

Good luck.

No, it's not a positive, the urine saturates the stick and causes the faint appearance. [facepalm]

Go buy another test right now. Pee on it, and get back to us. The sooner, the better. I have to work in an hour! Lol. I want to know!

Mine were faint, too. We gave up on TTC when I became pregnant with each of our girls. :)
