Irregular Periods
In Jan. of this year, I saw my period twice and then I had a 28 day cycle with mild bleeding (I normally am a heavy bleeder) and now 5 1/2 weeks later I've had no period. I do not take birth control of any sort and am allergic to latex (which means condoms are out of the question). I've been pondering on two possibilities: pregnancy or thyroid issues; can you give me any help?
So What Happened?™
Thank you all for your responses; believe it or not.......the only thing that is different is that I am pregnant; will now if it is viable in another week; too early to tell.

You might try a holistic therapy called Maya Abdominal Massage. Visit amazingbirths.com or redtentwellness.com for more information. Many women find improvements in their cycles after therapy. Good luck!

I was just having a similar problem. Period every 2 weeks for the last 2 months. My problem was that I recently had a large weight loss. Dr. said that your fat cells carry estrogen and because I had lost so many fat cells I kind of through my body off balance. Just ended my 1st back to normal cycle.

Hi I.,
If the doctor has ruled out any underlying problems, then it's time to take a pro-active approach to your healthcare.
We all have busy, active lives and sometimes that means we don't eat well, we live with too much stress, we don't take time to relax and we don't get a good night's sleep. To make matters worse, the food we eat doesn't have the nutrients it used to have - even 20 or 30 years ago. And if you're eating lots of processed food and going to fast food restaurants, you may be compounding the problem.
Here's a link to an audio that may give you some ideas to help yourself: www.HealthShak.com . The topic is A Healthy Menopause, but the information is for women of all ages.
Good luck finding a solution. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.

I tend to lean toward natural remedies and recommend Dr Drew Peterson in Ft Pierce. He's an acupuncturist and chiropractor and he may be able to help your body help itself. His # is 772-465-well. He's in Vero MWF and Ft Pierce TTH. He also has Saturday hours when needed, but I think that's in Vero too.
He helped me with several issues- post partum depression, vertigo, general wellness. He's a little different if you compare him to GP-type doctors, but I really like him.
hth,
K.

Do a home pregnancy test you can get in any pharmacy or even grocery store. They are very accurate! In any case I would suggest that you see a doctor, preferably a gynecologist, who would be able to answer your questions. It could be due to any of the things you mentioned plus a few other things. I would not trust my health to this website; ask an expert!

I., I agree with Marilyn. The cycle of medications and poor feeding habits may be making your body very toxic.
Perhaps you ought to go again and be screened for any possible recurrences or problems under way. But then, do yourself a favor and seek the help of an alternative physician who can help you find ways to detoxify your body and repelnish what you've lost. Antibiotics and pain medications in large amounts reak havoc on a body, but with a consistent wholistic approach, you can gain your health back.
Whatever is worng with your body now, there are better ways to deal with improving health than cutting, burning and poisoning.
You are only 37 years old, you can get better, much better.
Blessings.
