At&T says they offer voice-line free internet. Does anyone have this or has anyone had it? We have Att Yahoo high speed internet now but are thinking of getting rid of our home phone if we can get good internet without having it. We have satelitte through Att now and it is priced okay and works great so I don't want to change that unless the att voice-line free internet isn't good. Any advice on the internet without a home phone would be great. THanks. C.

I don't know about ATT but my friend had Time Warner Cable Road Runner without a home phone. She also had the cable. She likes it and now has the phone line and it works the same either way.

I drive truck and use a wireless card or broadband through sprint. It works all over the country and I have a cell phone so do not have a home phone at all. Maybe this will help you. The broadband card that goes in your computer is unlimited use for $59 a month.

I think waht you are talking about is Broaadband internet. That is what we have and it is wonderful. The cable company came in and ran it for us. They use cable cords like for your tv. It is very fast and very reliable. We ran that to one computer and then we network through the house with a router. I would recommend using the broadband service to anyone that is looking to change from dial-up. As for using the internet card that is also a good item for internet if you travel alot and have a notebook. It can be a bit more expensive. The card is about $129.00 and then $60.00 per month for internet. We pay a flat rate of $30.00 for our internet through the cable company. Which ever way you go though either is better than dial-up that is way to slow.

If you are in the Lake of the Ozarks area?... We have Lake cable. We do not have a home phone. My husband searched every company out there he could find and this was the best deal and speed he came up with. I know my neighbor has it also and really likes it.

Hi C..
We have a wireless data card through AT&T. We've had it for about 6 months so far and both my husband and myself are very happy with it. We went this route initially because we had our home phone service cut, but I think we would keep it regardless. Let me know if you have any more questions!
