Interested in Taking Mom/Baby Swim Classes This Summer

Hi there. Does anyone have any information regarding Mom/Baby swim classes that are available this summer? I have a 5 1/2 month old baby and would like to take classes where I can be in the water with her.

What can I do next?

I do know that the Paul Lydon Center in Danvers Mass. has a great program. I used to take my two nephews when I was their Nanny.

Hi,

I'm not sure where you are living, but I'm planning on taking classes this summer with my daughter at the Reading YMCA. If you have a Y in your area, they probably offer classes.

Hi B.,
I live in Windham, NH and took my daugther when she was 6 months old to the Salem Athletic Club for swim lessons. They have various days and times and it was a lot of fun, both for her and for me.
I also just joined the new Work Out Club in Salem and I believe they have swim classes too although i havent checked that out yet. but i do know they have a great kids swimming pool with water slides and waterfalls. My daughter is now 18 months old so I will be taking her there. but figured i would mention it as well.
Take care,
C.

Do you have a YMCA in the town you live in? I took swim lessons at the Y with my son when he was about 8 or 9 months old. He loved it.

Hi B., I don't know where you live but there is a YWCA that was just renovated and is reopening in May in Newburyport, Ma. They have swim classes and there is a bunch of Y's in the area depending on where you are.

I am also a 36 year old mom of an almost 18 month old trying for a second child and I also stay at home. Where do you live?

www.poolschool.org offers classes at several locations around the Lowell/andover area. also UMass Lowell offers them on saturdays, but they don't start again until september

Hi B.-

The YMCA is a great place for swim classes. You do not need to be a member it just cost a little more per class. Depending on the Y in your area it is a great place to be a member with little ones. My Y does not require me to be a member just my son ($10/mt). It is great they have free open pool time as well as free toddler gym classes.

Also if you are in the Merrimack Valley area, Cedardale/Cedarland is a great pool spot. The swim lessons are in door in the winter and they are HEATED!! Very important with the little ones. Good luck

I do not know where you live, but both Lowell and Andover ,MA have great programs called Swim School Plus.
I go to the one in Lowell which they have at the Lowell Boys and Girls Club.
My son is older(7y.o.)but I do know they have parent/child lessons for the smaller, or even the less confident older child.
