I am going on a road trip and will have some time to catch up on some inpiration of God's word. I have to say I am not a strong reader. I need a easy kind of read that is not too difficult to get the point. I tend to get tired and really loose strength in my eyes because I don't get a lot of chances to read a novel. I love life stories and adventure of someones testimony. For example, Heaven is Real, 90 min in Heaven. I read Dinner with a Stranger ( ficttion ) Crazy Love was recommended. So any others that would be good along these kinds of books ??????

I love Wanda Brunstetter's Amish fiction novels. Once I start reading one, I can't put it down. They are really easy reading.

This is the 1st series I read- (Here they have all 3 novels in one book, but you can get them separately)

http://www.amazon.com/Sisters-Holmes-County-Wanda-Brunste...

I also enjoy Beverly Lewis
This is the 1st book I read by her (it's also part of a series)

http://www.amazon.com/Shunning-Heritage-Lancaster-County/...

Have a great trip! :o)

I absolutely love the inspiring story of this book "Mafia to Mormon: My Conversion Story" by Mario Facione. It's a fascinating read about a young boy who grew up in the mafia and knew the rules about following his father, the mafia leader and all the "laws" behind being in the mafia. You don't have to be Mormon to really truly understand why this boy took a better route out of the Mafia life. Truly inspirational!

I have heard "The Heavenly Man" is a great book. It's about a Chinese man building the house churches in China, the times he spent in China and the miracles that he witnessed. My oldest dd is reading it right now and I plan on reading it when she is done. I love Ted Dekker, Frank Piretti, Elizabeht Elliot, Dana Garesh, John Piper.

I love ANYTHING by Max Lucado. If you want to strengthen your faith, reading Max is an amazing way to do so!

I'm currently reading Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic. Nick was born without any limbs, and Life Without Limits is the story of how he went from a depressed young man who thought he'd go nowhere, to an inspirational speaker who was thankful to God for the "gift" of no limbs! Truly an amazing read.

If you go to http://christianaudio.com/ , they give away a FREE download each month.

This month it is http://christianaudio.com/a-place-of-healing-joni-earecks...

"A Place of Healing", by Joni Eareckson-Tada...... When Joni was in high school, or just graduated, she dove into the surf near her home and broke her neck. She was instantly paralyzed from the neck down. She has written several other books... the first one is "Joni" , which tells the story of her accident and several years after that.

I haven't downloaded this one yet, but you might enjoy listening to a book for a change.... At any rate, the d/l is free in June.

Each month they give away a different audio book as a free download.

CS Lewis is amazing. For a road trip I recommend "Screwtape Letters" but "Mere Christianity" is also great and makes you think. If fact, I want to read them again!

Amazing! I was going to suggest two books to you and I see them already in the list of suggestions!

"A Place of Healing" is an amazing book, as well as "Life Without Limits" by Nick Vujicic. I highly recommend both of them.

Oh, and "The Heavenly Man" is great too! Great suggestions!
You can also check out "Imprisoned in Iran" by Dan Baumann.

If your eyes get tired, I recommend books on CD and on download like Malia B. suggested.

Oh, I forgot to mention the book "Heaven Is for Real". I can't remember the author but it's really popular right now so you can find it if you search on amazon.com

Happy reading!

"Tuesday's Grace: A Modern Day Miracle" is a true story that was written by Sarah Howard, a lady in my church, about how God moved in her life. It takes you through an emotional journey proving God is still performing miracles! http://bit.ly/iuFojZ

Dan Wooley's "Unshaken: Rising from the Ruins of Hati's Hotel Montana" is another true story about how anything is possible through faith. http://amzn.to/lALogV

Kristen Welch, owner/author of the Christian blog www.weareTHATfamily.com, has written a book of reflections of motherhood. http://bit.ly/gzLAjR It is titled, "Don't Make Me Come Up There!" (I just love that title, don't you?!)

One of the most powerful testimonies I have ever read is the kidnapping story of the Burnham couple in the Phillipines. The story was completely over shadowed due to the 9/11 catastrophe, as they the couple was kidnapped just a few days before as I recall.

It's called "In the Presence of My Enemies" written by Mrs. Burnham. I can't recall her first name, husband's name is Martin. I learned a lot about the radical muslims. It's really a gripping and sad and shocking and insightful story.

Love Comes Softly (titles in the series are Love Come Softly, Love comes ___, Love ____ etc.) By Janette Oke. These are fictional, and an easy & enjoyable read. They're not straight out Christian inspirational books, but more of a story, with testimony woven in throughout the book. Like Little House On The Prairie but on an more adult & christian level. Been a while since I read those, so I don't remember how many books but they are easy, enjoyable, and uplifting.

About a woman whose newlywed husband dies and she's pregnant or has a baby and marries a "stranger" and the heartache and joys of doing what she knows she needs to be doing and missing him and getting to know her new husband and recognizing God's plan in her life and the goodness of God, etc. Again, it's been a while since I read those books but I still fondly remember reading them!

You described anything written be Karen Kingsbury. She has lots of series. When I was put on bed rest my friend loaned me some of her books. You fall in love with the characters right away. They are an easy read and you just can't wait to find out how it ends up. They are very inspirational and remind me all the time how God is in control and had a better plan than we do. I recommend starting with the "Redemption" series.

I don't have any suggestions about what books to read, but since you get tired reading, have you thought about getting books on tape or audio books? A lot of books are available on tape/audio and then you don't have to stress your eyes by reading the text. Check with your local library.
