Inner Cougars? :)

If you had to do it all over again, would you marry a much younger man and be a cougar?

My sister is one, only by a couple of years. They are so happy. He keeps her youthful and she makes him do his own laundry. I love them!

I used to work for a 41 yr old woman who was married to a 28 yr old man. She was an attorney for an oil company in Houston and lived in a demi-mansion on Millionaire Row, and he like to work on old cars in the driveway. hhmmm...

I don't know if I would. At my age, he'd have to look past all the hills and valleys on my butt, thighs and abs...but I've been told I'm quite the personality catch!

Or are you a cougar already? What's your age difference? Biggest age difference wins!

What can I do next?

Ever since my divorce in 2005 I have been in relationships with younger men. My 1st 3 yr relationship after my divorce my boyfriend was 4 years younger. My new relationship my boyfriend and I have been together for 7 months and he is 7 years younger than me. This one is working GREAT. We seem like we're on the same level. I never feel like I am 33. lol I seem younger and he seems older.

Oddly, all three of us, my sisters and I married younger men. One sister;s DH is 9 months younger he says he saw her being born and new it was time to come back. My DH is two years younger than I, but I was late to do everything in life and he was early. Now, the last one after divorcing the husband who was a year older has married a man 7 years younger! They had known each other for many years. She is very high energy and always on the move and he is able to keep up with her.

Generally young men are clueless way longer than young women are, but we three found keepers!

I am not a Cougar.
My Husband is younger... than me. 5 years. But certainly not as many years younger as that woman you mentioned.
I didn't date him nor marry him on purpose, just because he is younger.
Age had nothing to do with it.
For both of us.
I have typically, dated guys that were older.

Dear. God. No.

My husband is the only man I've ever dated within a decade of my own age and it has been the hardest, weirdest, 2nd worst experience ever. Every other man was at LEAST 10-15 years my senior, and I MISS that. I miss men who know who they are, and what they want, and aren't going to be constantly changing on you.

I'll take the old wolf, thank you.

No way!!!! I'd hate to be constantly worrying that I'd have to keep up with all the younger, FIRMER women around lol
One of the biggest things that attracted me to my husband was he wisdom, his outlook on life because of all his experiences how much he valued family and honesty.
Younger guys may be "exciting" but for how long? There's alot to be said for being with someone you feel safe and comfortable with. and that you still love and are attracted to years later because of how you feel about them, not just because of how they look

My first husband was 3 years younger than me, and my current husband is 7 years younger than me (but he looks older than me!) =) I personally don't think age is an issue unless you have kids at an older age and will likely die when the kids are barely 20, then I don't think that's cool at all. Like men in their 60's having kids with a young woman, he won't be around for most of the kids life and I think that's sad. Otherwise, anything goes! =)

My husband is 2 years younger than me. That doesnt make me a cougar, but when we were dating, people would joke that I was 'robbing the cradle' I have always been attracted to younger men. My husband has so much energy and is always willing to have fun!

My bf is almost exactly 4 1/2 years younger and it works well for us. My ex-husband was 7 years older and we didn't work out. My bf tells me quite often how happy he is that he found a woman instead of a little girl. He said he was tired of games and petty arguments. I think, though, it's not age so much as personality. He is 29 but is so much more mature than my 40 year old ex. I wasn't looking for a younger man, it just happened that way and I don't consider myself a cougar.

I have been a cougar all my life until my current husband. He's 2 yrs older than me and the older we get the more it shows! I like about 10 yrs younger than me. I went to college at 30 and dated basketball and football players that were 20. I called them hotboyz. Talk about Perfect athletic bodies. It was super hot, fun, sexy, flirty, It was lighthearted and I laughed all the time. I married a man I had dated off and on for the last decade and of course, it was a deeper passionate burning love and compatability, rather than fun hot no strings sex. Somedays, I REALLY miss the hotboyz. We struggle with low-t and it takes him soooooo long, like tooooo long. Never had either of those problems with the hotboyz! But, on the upside he does things they wont and is really good at things they werent. SO, I guess it comes down to quality over quantity. At least that's what I tell him. ;)

No, I don't think I would. I married a man older than me for a reason- I couldn't stand the immaturity of men my age (my DH is only 3 years older than me).

My sister is married to a guy my age, 12 years younger than her. They often find they have different goals when it comes to how to spend their money and how to divide the different expenses. She at least breaks even on her etsy.com store and he is an electrical engineer. He can't find work in his field and is working maintenance at a factory but he still brings home a fairly good salary. I think it is their age differences that influence their different styles of spending. He wants to go to some fun vacations and enjoy life and she worries about saving money for illnesses and other things, she wants to pinch every penny.

So, the youngest guy I ever dated was 15 years younger than me, there were some.....wonderful satisfying benefits...but the personality differences just stood out more to me.

with the two types of cougars you mentioned. first i would not want to be anyones mommy. and i sure would not want a boy toy. i would get board so quickly! my hubby is 8 yrs older than me. i do not feel like the younger woman as i sure dont look it. ppl r supprised to learn i am early thirties and he is almost forty! perhaps i should not have chosen some one so much older than me but we get along great and hopefuly we will be able to grow old together as a team.

My husband is two (and for a few glorious months--3) years older than me. I have dated younger men and older men. Maybe 9 older, and 5 younger--so hardly "cougar" status.
While I admire younger men's naive outlook on things, there's a lot to be said for maturity on both sides!
All in all--I think life is what you make it and happiness doesn't really have a "trouble-free" number!

My son jokingly calls me a cougar. I'm not, hubby is only 1 year younger. I wouldn't even consider someone 10-15 years younger than me because I can still smell the similac behind their ears by the same token I wouldn't even consider a man 10-15 years older than me either. So I married someone perfect for me in age and temperment. Great question though.

Just heard a radio program yesterday where this was addressed. It's the future that is not good for the younger person, as they have no way of knowing what challenges there will be. There is a naivete about how they believe they can handle it. The interests, medical needs, the energy, etc. is very different in 10 - 20 years...

I would not want it nor would I recommend it. I love hitting all the stages of life along with my husband. (Now it is the beginning of forgetting things. We can laugh together.)

We are six weeks apart...and for that six weeks I hear little jokes about "where's my old wife?"..."I married an older woman"...whatever...it's six weeks.

However, my most favorite moment was birthday a few years ago...my card on the outside said "if life were a game..." then the inside said "and age was points, you'd be winning"...

I love to win! So I'll take it. I am not a cougar at six weeks. And last night with my sister, nephew, son, daughter and husband at the dinner table, my nephew says "I am older than Cae"...Cael said "Yup I'm da baby"...and my sister says "your moms the oldest person at this table"...I said "And that makes me the Queen Bee".
