Info on Window Replacement
We're looking at replacing a couple of windows in our home before winter. Anyone know of a good, reputable Window Replacement company, preferably in the NW Suburbs? I've seen so many ads, but not sure which ones are trustworthy, will do good work, and basically, won't rip you off. We're on a tight budget. We went to Lowes (thinking that they would be a good option) and got the worst service there. So, any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I replaced 23 windows in an old 1950's home about 3 years ago. I did my homework and found Wellington Windows, out of Palatine if I remember correctly. They were very easy to work with - not pushy like the Sears salesman and not uninterested in helping me like the Home Depot or Menards guy. They did all the work basically in 1 day and then came to finish up the exterior caulking and clean up the following day. The customer service department called to verify a job well done. I would highly recommend them. If you want me to go through my files and find the number or sales rep. just send me an email and I'll send you details.

Romano Brothers (out of Hanover Park) did a great job replacing all our windows. They came highly recommended and I follow up that recommendation. They also do siding, gutters, etc.

Everyone in my neighborhood in Schaumburg uses American Classic Exteriors. We received a quote from them and it was reasonable.

Unfortunately, we picked another company and had a terrible experience and work that is still not done. They were even 'pre-screened' by service magic which was useless. I wish we would have used American Classic. If you want to know who not to use, feel free to contact me directly.

Woodland Windows and Doors have high ethical standards and will do a good job but they aren't cheap. Their place is on the corner of Lake and Gary.

The Window Guys replaced every window in my home last fall. They give the best guarantee and did superb work. If a lawn mower throws a rock through your window, they replace it free!!! For life!

We had our entire house done in June. We used Feldco. Great product & warranty. We had 20 windows...they were done in 1 1/2 days! We recommend them to anyone...we saved a lot of $$$$ on our electric this summer, hopefully the heating bill goes down, too!
