Infection?? - Poplar Grove,IL

Hi. I've posted a couple things on here, and unfourtinately enough only one person has responded to ANY of them, so hopefully some of you ladies out there can help me out with this one please... I think it's possible i have a yeast infection, but i'm not sure. I have white discharge, and it burns when i pee, but only after having sex. Any other time it doesn't burn but the discharge is consistant through out the day accompanied by foul smell. Anyone know what this may be? Any advice??? ( It's not an STD. I've already been checked and so has my boyfriend. We're both clean. )

What can I do next?

Hi A.,
I would definitly be making an appointment. It sounds like a yeast infection to me. Yest infections don't always have to be accompanied by itching or any of the regular symptoms that you hear. I get them and they are very minor. Because of the smell, I would call your doctor.
Good luck,
K. :~)

Hi A. -

It sounds to me like a yeast infection and even possibly a bladder infection in any case I would call my doctor or OB and get it checked out. Some people have stronger symptoms than others. I thought I seen on TV a new product out there to test if you had a yeast infection at home now..seen it on the TV. Maybe try Walgreens or another store and ask the pharmacist about it but don't let it linger too long or it could get worse if untreated and if it is also a bladder infection which it could be it can go into your kidneys if left untreated for quite some time. Hope that helps!

A.,

Please don't misunderstand me here. But I am a little concerned with a few points. For all my yeast infections (and I had a LOT of them when I was in my early 20's) I did not have pain with urination after sex only. The BIGGEST complaint I had with yeast infections was the ITCHING - and you don't mention that as one of your symptoms. I mean I seriously wanted to take a round brush and just itch the hell out of the inside of my vagina.

Any person who is sexually active can get an STD. and contrary to some people's beliefs, douching will not give you a sexually transmitted disease, that is the most absurd thing i've ever heard. It can however, throw your natural balance of good bacteria out of whack and the end result would be a yeast infection.

Go to the doctor, post haste and get yourself looked at.

Good luck!

Ok, I had a similar issue recently after having my second son (7 months ago). It would BURN when I peed the whole day after sex. I had discharge but NO odor. I asked my OB and he said there was nothing wrong except for the fact that since I was breastfeeding my hormones were still goofy. Due to that, I was kinda "dry" and it was irritating me when we had sex. He told me to get some lubricant and it worked great.

The fact that you have odor would cause some concern. Call your DR and get checked. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck.

Go get yourself Monistat for the yeast infection, but if it's clamidia which you can get from too many yeast infections, in the army it would happen all the time because the idiots down there in S. Carolina (hot weather) would have you douche every week, and a lot of the girls would get clamidia from excessive douching, then you and your boyfriend have to be on meds.

Please excuse me if I get too graphic...
Although mine was not a yeast infection or an STD, I did have the same experience as you with white discharge, painful urination and unpleasant odor after sex with my husband. Got myself checked out completely and I was fine. Body chemistry was attributed to the odor. Lack of proper lubrication to the painful urination (I am very sensitive and we get a little rambunctious ;-) ). Discharge was from the bodily fluids.
Please, get yourself checked out by your gyne immediately. Good luck!
