Inexpensive Ballet Outfits?

My 3 yr old is starting ballet lessons in Oct. I went to the dance clothing store in Plano off Parker and Independence and everything is soooo expensive. Especially since I have no idea if she's really going to like it and want to continue with it. Does anyone know where I can find little ballet shoes/leotards/tights in or somewhat near Plano? If the price is right, I'll drive a little!

What can I do next?

WALMART- all kinds of ballet out fits for $6.98 or something, skirts, tights, black, and pick, some white. They are in the big girl section though- sizes 4-16. :) I would reccommended consignment stores for shoes or payless is great!!! She is going to love it!

I'd recommend trying Once Upon a Child, Kid to Kid and any other resale store in your area. My daughter started gymnastics at 3 and I've gotten 3 leotards for her as she's grown, with the most expensive being $4 or $5.

Hi, I was at kid to kid yesterday in McKinney on Eldorado and I saw lots of Dance stuff, tap shoes ... you could call them and have them check sizes for you so you dont have to make the trip if its not close. also check the other resalse shops.

I buy my daughter's tap and ballet shoes from Payless when they have their Buy One Get One 1/2 Off Sale. This way she gets new shoes at a resale store price. The 2 different studios we have been to wants you to have the leather bottom ballet shoes, not the slippers. The leotards I buy from Target and Walmart. I always buy them a size big since they stretch so much. This way they fit for more then one season. I only buy 2 leotards (pink & black) and 2 tights (pink & white). If she doesn't end up liking ballet, she can at least use the leotards for tumbling.

I bought my little girl a leotard, and tights at Target for $16 she is 2. They also sell ballet slippers, they are not ballet shoes but I am not sure if at that age it matters. They were only $8 at Target. I ended up buying my little ones ballet shoes at Payless they $15.

Mine is also taking tap and we bought her tap shoes at Kid 2 Kid for $10 and they look brand new. You may look there for leotards and ballet shoes. Good luck

I saw a lot of gently used ballet clothing at Kid to Kid in Plano.
