Indoor Swimming

I would really love to bring my almost 4 month old to just play in the water somewhere in the western suburbs. I live in Naperville.I do know Centennial beach but I'm more interested in an indoor place. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks to everyone.I will definitely go to the Pelican Harbor in Bolingbrook.

the ymca may have open pool times and you could bring your little one. I know ours does. they have lap lanes set-up, but also just a large area where some moms bring children to play.

Pelican Harbor in Bolingbrook has both and indoor and outdoor pool.

Try the Dupage Swim Center in Aurora. I started my son in lessons there at 6 months and he loved it.

The Bolingbrook Rec Center has a GREAT indoor pool with mom and tot swim from 8-12 during the week and I htink Sat and then open swim 12-8 Sat and Sun and 4-8pm MWF. They also have infant swim lessons. I have all my kids in the lessons ... I started the baby at 8 weeks and now she is 1 and can climb out of the pool on her own!! There is also a no depth area so they can sit and splash it really is great and the cost is very reasonable. I think its $2 more if you are not a resident of Bolingbrook The BRAC is on L. Cahce/Lindsey. Happy swimming!!

Hi,

The only place I can think of is Rush Copley - I know they have infant swimming classes and it is all indoor. I'm not sure if there is open swim or not. Oh - and one more - there is the Dupage Swimming Center on Weber Rd. in Aurora (off of Eola & New York) That is a brand new facility, I believe they have a website - but I'm not sure what it is - they may have open swim there. Good Luck!

When my daughter was born we belonged to Rush Copley Healthplex in Aurora. Their indoor pool was perfect for her (1 foot depth at the beginning) and I started taking her to the pool at about 4 wks old. We also took mommy & me swimming lessons. She had a lot of fun. They had plenty of family swim hours.

Now we belong to Lifetime Fitness in Bolingbrook. They have an indoor as well as an outdoor pool. Both have zero depth. You will need to check their website for pool hours.

Vaughn athletic center in Aurora has a really nice indoor pool with zero depth and up for little ones and older children.

Bolingbrook also has an indoor zero depth pool at their rec. center.

You can look them up online by Fox Valley Park District for Vaughn and Bolingbrook Aquatic Center. I have been to both and would recommend both. Vaughn is a little brighter and has less of an echo than Bolingbrook

Hope this helps, L.

We liked baby swimming at the YMCA (we went to the one on 95th street) and are also big fans of Pelican Harbor in Bolingbrook.
Hope this helps!
