Indoor Places Where a Two-year-old Can Play Sports with Dad

Is there any place in the Portland, Oregon, area where a dad might be able to find a space where he and his son could play actively?

This would be for those times when dad's living room is not right for playing various active games, like pretend golf or hit the ping pong ball to each other with large plastic paddles (no table), etc.

We do not have a gym membership, but are considering All Star (used to be a Y), near OHSU curves.

Thanks.

P.

What can I do next?

Thanks to all of the folks who responded.

Community centers and the private places that people suggested are great ideas.

Thanks again.

How about Pump It Up and Pump It Up Junior and Out of This World? You can burn off a lot of steam at these places and have quite a good time!

Enjoy!

Check around at the community centers! I know Mt. Scott Community Center has a basement play area where you pay something like a dollar (maybe $1.50) to play! I'm sure there are other community centers throughout town that must have similar programs :)

Good luck!

Hello P.,

Check out Portland Parks & Rec or Tualatin Hills Park & Rec. Both offer indoor parks in the Portland Area. My favorite is a Portland Park & Rec location around Mall 205.

Good Luck

The Field House in Sherwood is really cheap & fun. It only costs $2.00 per kid. It is an enormous indoor soccer arena that has a toddler time on Tues, Thurs. & Fri. from 10-12. They supply all kinds of balls, bats, etc. along with a parachute, slide, teeter totter, & tiny basketball hoop.

Some schools and churches open their gym for family nights. You could check with the ones near you.

Hi P.!

I'm not sure when you have your son, but I also highly recommend the community centers. Almost all of them have indoor park during the day, and many of them have special nights when they have indoor park as well. It's a great runaround/play time for the kids, and it feels nice to be in the community too. :) Have fun!

Best,
L.
