In Need of Cleaning Advice for Floors

I have trouble getting my floors clean completely. What is the best & easiest way to clean floors? I have tried all kinds of mops, swiffers, and cleaners, and I can't find anything I like. I don't have alot of free time, so it needs to be something quick and easy. I have tile and wood floors.

What can I do next?

Here is something I do every day to clean my wood and tile floors. I am a mom of 5, and my floors get dirty quickly. I use my 2 year old's diapers, inside out, and strapped using the diaper straps to the bottom of my basic sponge mop. I put the floor cleaner in a spray bottle, spray the floor, and clean/dry it with the diaper on the end of the mop. I do it in sections, spraying about a 3 foot area at a time. It does sound really funny, but it really works GREAT, and it is much cheaper than swiffer type mop pads, and the diaper can absorb a lot more area than a swiffer type mop does. It may be cookey, but I have been doing it for years, and I will continue doing it even after my youngest is out of diapers!

I have to say i love my steam mop. No cleaning with chemicals just water and the floors dry in about 3 mins. I have the monster steam mom and its great if you get on amazon you can look them up and read reviews.

I have hardwood in my enitre house on both floors I bought a 24 inch dust mop form lowes to sweep with and I use a hand vaccume to get the pile of dust if creates and I have a shark steam mop although I do have to refill it several times if Im doing the whole 3500 sqft of house I have LOL. I love the steam mop it gets everything off the floors and shines the floor no dulling residue (gosh I sound like an infomercial) or sticky film left behind. It even got up crayon.

not sure about hard wood, but I use vinegar and water to clean my tile floors. The smell goes away after the vinegar evaporates and isn't toxic like most other cleaners

I have just started using Bona products from Lowe's. I finally feel like my floor is clean after using swifter wet jet for years. It is a spray and then you use a wet microfiber. They also use a wet jet type thing. Good luck, I know how frustrating it can be.

vinegar. I think you mix it with water but I'm not sure. I'm sure you could google "Uses for Vinegar" but i know it does a great job cleaning wood floors

Hi...I'm cant' stand doing floors so I got the Shark Steam Mop and love it! I just sweep my floors then steam away the yuck. My floors are dry right away so I don't have to worry about keeping my toddler out of the kitchen. There's no chemicals too so no harsh smells. Seems to work well for me. The only part I can't seem to get clean very well are the corners. I usually have to go back with a paper towel and finish up the corners. I think the H20 mop is shaped better and may work good in the corners. Good luck!

I've started using Orange Glow on hardwood floors, get at target, has worked great. K
