Implantation Bleeding?

I just started charting my BBT a few monthes ago after having a tubal pregnancy rupture and irregular cycles. My last period was Dec. 22 and far as I can tell I ovulated Jan. 8 so I should start my period Jan. 21. My husband and I had sex a few times around ovulation so it is possible to be pregnant, however I started spotting today Jan 16. I'm wondering if this could be implantation bleeding? Has anyone had this? I also have had breast tenderness ever since ovulation. I've had long cycles before but never a short one so I don't think it's my period. Could this be something else? I don't want to be too excited yet that I could be pregnant and it's to early to test. Thanks for all your help!

What can I do next?

Hi K.,

That could definitely be implantation bleeding. I use fertility friend online when I track my cycles (I'm pregnant now). Here is the link to my positive HPT cycle.

I have a clear implatation dip at 6 days past ovulation and also had some implantation bleeding at six seven and nine dpo. I also had the same with my previous pregnancy that I miscarried.

Good luck this cycle! Happy and healthy 9 months to you if this is it :)

K., I had implantation bleeding with my second pregnancy and it was just one drop. It scared me because I thought I might be pregnant and I was miscarrying but it was just the one drop. Should you have sex more than once around the time of ovulation? When I took my temperature and I knew I was ovulating we had sex several times around that day. My husband even came home on his lunch hour and his pager went off the whole time (which he answered!) and that was when we conceived my second son!! Funny story now. I don't know the current thinking now about having sex frequently around ovulation. This was in the 80's. Good luck. A.

I had implantation bleeding with my first son - I spotted all day and it was pink and brown. I tested as soon as I saw it and got a positive. The only reason I tested was b/c my temps were still high - how are your temps? You might as well just take a test - it couldn't hurt, right???
Good luck!!

I don't know about the bleeding, but are you still taking your temp? Once your temp goes up, it will stay up until you get you period (mine always dropped the DAY I got my period). If your temp stays high past 12 days you are likely pg. If it stays high past 18 days, you are definately pg...

I had implantation bleeding, and also slight cramping. I had gone through an IVF cycle, and when I saw the spotting thought for sure all hope was lost, then it stopped. It was just a small amount. Good luck!

Sounds like a period to me. You don't want to see any kind of bleeding during a pregnancy.

I had implantation bleeding with my first pregnancy (I miscarried). I knew it was different just by the feel and look of it. It was a totally different color and was very light. I also had tons of other signs of being pregnant.

My bleeding also started the day before I would normally get my period. I tested positive the next day.

Take a pregnancy test or make an appointment to see your ob/gyn. It is possible that you are pregnant due to the symptoms of spotting and breast tenderness. However, these are also signs of the onset of menstruation. Also, like another poster said, keep charting your BBT and check to see how your temperature is holding up.

Good luck to you and try to be patient!

It happend to me when I had IVF. I cried and then called the doc who told me the embryos are probably burrowing into the lining. I didn't get my hopes up. Then found out we were having twins. Good luck!
