I'm So Nervous - Need Some Encouragement
I was laying in bed last night, trying to fall asleep, and I realized that I might be pregnant. First I bled for a month and a half and now I haven't bled for a month and a half. I'm on the depo shot. I know that it messes with your periods, and I know that it's supposed to be really effective... But not having a period for a month and half really scares me.
I'm supposed to get my next shot on Friday, and I'm going to have them run a pregnancy test before hand (Just in case).
I know that I'm most likely not pregnant. The failure rate for the depo is something like 0.3% with perfect use, and as far as I know I have been using it correctly. I'm just so scared that I am! I'd love the baby, no matter what. And I know that no time is the right time to have a baby... But this is especially horrible timing. I just started a new job. I was just diagnosed with depression. I am still living at home with my parents and 2 younger sisters (My boyfriend and I are doing everything we can to save up enough to build a house, and that includes living with our parents to save money on rent). I have a 6 and a half month old baby boy. It's just a very bad time to get pregnant.
I guess I just need some one to slap me and tell me to stop worrying. Anyone up for the task?

stop worrying - I never had a period when I was on the depo shot. If you are super worried go buy a pregnancy test.....

I got pregnant with my first on the depo shot. Buy a digital test and take it to know for sure!

I agree. I would be very surprised if you were pregnant. I bet you're in the clear! I know that won't make you stress any less. Definitely take a pregnancy test to help ease those worries. And, with your depression...birth control can be linked to that. You might want to look into that before taking it anymore.
I think you should worry as much as you need to worry (because telling you to stop won't work...hehe) and take a test to help you feel relieved.

The reason you are worrying is the depression, Vickie. You'll be okay. Before getting the shot, ask them to give you a blood test to see if you are pregnant. It's better than a urine test this early.
