I'm Pregnant and Need Food Suggestions
I need some healthy suggestions for breakfast, lunch and dinner...my husband is tired of me telling him "I don't know" when he asks what I want. With my fractured leg, he has pretty much has to wait on me lately...I know I need to eat more than I am, but I just don't really want anything. Help!

Hi J. - some quick and easy ideas:
=Whole Wheat bagel with peanut butter
=Baked sweet potato (with butter, brown sugar, or just plain - this is a super-nutritious, easy and filling snack, lunch or dinner); a regular baked potato is good too
=Bean burrito (use the no-fat beans and you're set) - pile up with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, etc.
=Bake chicken - buy the skinless breasts for even easier prep; brush with olive oil, sprinkle herbs, bake at 375 for about 30 minutes (even husbands can do this!) Make several breasts and then you can have it for lunch the next day.
=any vegies you like - steam them; clean, cut up as needed, put one inch of water in a pan; put vegies in; cover; turn on high until steam starts to come out (about 5 minutes), then turn to low for about 7-10 minutes.
=have him bake banana or pumpkin bread for a quick breakfast; although this does require some time to mix up, it's super easy and every cookbook has a recipe for it (if you don't have one, go to allrecipes.com); great for breakfast or a quick snack; use whole wheat flour, 1/2 applesauce instead of oil, and use less sugar and it's even more nutritious
=hard boiled eggs are quick and easy for snacks too - lots of protein for your growing baby
I'm sure i could think of tons more, but you're probably tired of reading this - or you're getting hungry!! Good luck! Husbands are also really good at making tacos - and since he'll have to clean up the kitchen, you don't even have to think about the mess he'll make doing it!

www.recipezaar.com is a great site. www.babyfit.com has recipes for pregnant women and you can record what you're eating to see what you're lacking.
You could eat fruit, cottage cheese, high quality cheeses, yogurt ( i like plain yogurt with m&ms), avocado, mushrooms, chicken, spinach, wraps, etc. If you want some specific recipes you can private message me. : )
