I scheduled my c-section for my son on April 1st. I can't think of any downside, but can any of you think of any problems with having an April Fool's baby?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

**Haha, if I get the same anesthesiologist that I had last time, he very might joke around and tell me it's a girl! He was pretty funny..after I was totally immobilized, with my arms taped down and everything, he says "Ok, try to touch your nose". Must have been pretty funny to see someone with a spinal block fervently trying to touch their nose :-)

I think it is a fun date, which is why I chose it. My due date is on the 8th, but since my BP tends to creep up towards the end of my PGs we opted for an earlier surgery.

You have a beautiful girl......silence...What?....April Fools!!!

I don't think there is anything bad about having a baby on April Fools. Just another day. My daughter had the misfortune of being born 9/11, nothing is ever said. However, people don't forget what day she was born on.

My brother's birthday is April 2 and we always told him that he was just a late April Fools Joke! My mother had a friend who had triplets on April Fools Day 60 some years ago before ultrasound and the like. So they were unaware of the multiples. After having her children, her husband and the doctor and nurses had a hard time convincing her that she actually did have triplets. She kept saying she KNEW it was April Fools day and everyone was simply trying to pull a joke on her. I guess it took some time for it to sink in that she did have triplets. Of course that would never happen today with modern technology. The only downside is some possible ribbing your son may get growing up! But then again, in our family if it wasn't his birthday we would have simply found something else to rib him about. I always got alot of ribbing because my birthday is Halloween.

I actually think it's fun to have an April Fool's baby. My daughter's first due date was April 1st and we loved laughing about it. I'm sorry the doctor changed the due date to the last of March.

The only drawback would be for the child who may get teased for having an April Fools birthday.

My hubby is an April Fools baby (as is his cousin), and I love that that is his birthday! It's not a major holiday, but it's hard to forget! Congratulations!

Not a thing! My due date is April 1. Who knows if it will actually happen on that day, but I think it would be fun if it does!

You should make the doctor tell your husband he found another baby in there. :)

My mother was born on April 1. What kind of problems would anyone have? It's just a day.

You can.... change the day to one day later or the day before.
My Doctor let me do that.... per my 2nd child's scheduled C-Section..... which was originally planned on a day...that was not ideal, per cultural reasons.

Ask your OB/GYN.....

all the best,
Susan
