I'm Due in a Couple Weeks....
and I really wish my baby girl would just be here.. Anything work for anyone to speed up the process? Like walking, sex, moving a lot.... Anything? She is big enough and their is nothing wrong with her so it would be fine if she came a little early. I just want to induce naturally but I am not sure what really works. I go for walks everyday but I have a feeling she will just wait till my due date..

I wouldn't take anything that would make you sick. Semen has something in it, progesterone maybe, that might actually help trigger labor, so sex is an option that actually makes sense. My first was almost two weeks late, and people told me to walk, sweep and all kinds of things. Fact is, they come out when they are done cooking. Good luck!

The absolute last thing I would try is castor oil! Why on earth would you want to give yourself intestinal upset and diarrhea on top of being uncomfortable at 38 weeks. Baby will come when she is ready. You can try things like sex and nipple stimulation. The prostaglandins (sp?) in semen can cause contractions.

I am a midwife. Unless your body and your baby are ready nothing will work to bring on labor, not even an induction with pitocin. That is why so many inductions end in a c-section. And many, many babies come after the so called "due date." Just be patient. Your baby knows the best day for it to be born. You will have to practice patience a lot as a parent and now is the best time to start.

She will come when she's ready. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work if this is your first. I heard castor oil will start things, take it with some orange juice, it will give you diarrhea. My son was 2 days late, I played the hula hoop on the Wii Fit, and he came the next day. Just don't worry, if your really impatient, try the castor oil.

I hear yah! I am due in a couple if weeks too! My first was 9 days late, and the LONGEST 9 days ever! Nothing worked for me. Try to keep busy... Walk as much as you can without draining all of your energy because you are certainly going to need it once labor starts and after the baby is here! Congrats, and hang in there!

Unfortunately nature just has to take its course. I am 36 weeks preggos and I am sooo ready for it to be done. I have have cramps (like getting period from He(( ) for the past week and went in for my first internal today really expecting to be like 3 or 4 cm dilated. HA! only 1/2 cm and 75% effaced. I have been walking like 5 miles a day thinking it was actually doing something. Guess not.
Congrats and Good luck with baby. Just try and relax and enjoy the last few weeks.

I tried everything with my second pregnancy to try to self-induce, including castor oil, and nothing worked. My daughter was 3 weeks 1 day late. My midwife said, looking at her, that she didn't look like she had cooked more than 41 weeks at the most, and that my due date must have been off. Of course, she was also 9 p 6 oz, but I don't think that was due to being overdue (my son was 8p 3 oz and 3 weeks early -- we just have big babies) Natural induction methods will only work if your body and baby are ready. Go ahead and try, but -- Just be patient. I know it's hard, but your baby will be better off for it in the end.

I heard with my second to drink at least a gallon of water a day. I started that at 37 weeks and he was born about 3 days later. Probably a coincidence, but esp. if you're walking that much, increase your water! I do love the midwife's advice below though - you may as well start being patient with that little one now because you'll need the practice ;-)
