Ok I need some help from you ladies. I just found out I was pregnant like 5 days ago. I had to go to the ER 2 days ago because I was having sharp shooting pains in my pelvic area and my doctor was afraid of a tubal pregnancy. So I go there, and the baby is too small to see, well I have been charting ovulation and that day according to when I ovulated it was like 10 days after I ovulated. Well they took my blood and said my hcg level was 70. Well I called my doctors office the next morning and they said it was pretty low. But, if you think about it, I just ovulated 10 days before and it takes the baby about 3-5 days to even get to the uterus, so therefore the baby had only been there for about 6 days, and since hcg doubles every 48 hours, that doesnt seem bad, does it? My doctors office thinks so, but I have a friend who her husband is a obgyn, and she said those numbers are great since I havent even missed my period yet. Well they took my blood at my doctors office and I have to wait 2 more days to get the results and I just wanted to ask you all your opinions in the meantime. I'm having all the symptoms, nausea, tender breasts, frequent urination, and exhaustion. I've always heard when you're going to miscarry those symptoms go away or you don't get them at all. This is just very hard for me to handle because I have had 2 other VERY healthy pregnancies. Thank you in Advance.

What can I do next?

I had massive bleeding 10 days after ovulation, and thought I had a miscarriage without ever knowing I was pregnant. Instead, it was the implantation. I had no symptoms at all. Try to relax and give things some time to sort themselves out!

I've had three miscarriages and all I can tell you is that IF you are going to miscarry, there's nothing you can do to reverse it. I pray that all is well for you. Best of luck!

Just sit back and relax. Right now you know you are pregnant. Just enjoy that. Don't think about all the "what ifs'." Those are totally out of your control. I have gone through several losses. With each pregnancy I had resolved myself to enjoy the baby while it was with me for how ever long he or she was with me. None of us knows when we will die. You don't go around worrying about that. You enjoy the people while you are with them.

I'm not sure what to say other than RELAX and DO NOT STRESS! I know it's easier said than done - but really wait to see what the blood tests say..you might be surprised!!

GOOD LUCK!!

I'm so sorry you're on this roller coaster. I've had 4 pgs - 2 that resulted in my little boys and 2 that ended in losses (blighted ovum and miscarriage). In my opinion it is way too early to even consider the possibility that you're having a m/c. First of all, it's still too early to see anything on the u/s, and will be for another few weeks. For another, your hcg sounds great to me for how early you are. Those number vary so widely from woman to woman it's hard to even say what is too low. The important part is that they double every 48-72 hours. If you have the test done at the 48 hour mark and you're numbers haven't doubled but have still gone up a lot, ask for a 72 hour test. For some reason, it sometimes takes 72 hours in some women.

As for symptoms, I hate to say it, but that is no indication as to whether you'll m/c or not. I had symptoms with all 4 pg. In fact, my second loss was the one where my morning sickness as the worst and the only time I threw-up due to m/s.

Unfortunatly, there's nothing you can do right now except wait and pray. I know it's not the answer you want to hear, and I wish there were some magic words I could say that would make it all better. I'll be praying that everything is okay. Oh, and if you start to spot, don't freak out. It's very normal, even in heatlhy pgs to spot. I spotted with my oldest son, but not with my youngest. Worry only if the spotting becomes heavier. Also, don't bother going to the ER if you do start to m/c unless you're bleeding enough to go through a pad an hour. There's absolutly nothing they can do except give you a prescription pain killer which you can call your dr for. All you'll end up with is an ER bill.

Good luck. I'll be thinking of you.

I agree, the best thing to do is RELAX and let God handle everything. I was having spotting, had an ultrasound that day. They saw a strong heart beat and I miscarried the very next day at work :( I was 12 1/2 weeks at that point. My point is that the doctors can just tell you what the circumstances are at that point in time. Good Luck. I hope everything works out.

I agree that those pains could be implantation. Sometimes that can hurt!

Well, the pains could have been implantation cramping. Levels really mean nothing. If you haven't had any bleeding, then just relax. If you ovulated 10 days prior to the blood draw, do you know when conception occurred? You are dealing with a very new pregnancy. Just relax and think positively. I wish you the best.

When I found out I was pregnant the doctor thought it was not a viable pregnancy and my hcg levels were low. They thought the baby attached to the uterus but then stopped growing. It was crazy. They scheduled to take it out but wanted me to see a radiologist just to be sure. Turns out the doc was wrong and she is my sweet little 9 month old. I would just try to relax! :)

The best thing you can do is just take good care of yourself. I know that ERs and doctors at times can be very negative. Like if they tell you the worst case scenario and it works out better, you will be happier or something. They just see so much so I think that is why they can be like that. If you have more intense pain, then yeah go back in, otherwise just eat well and get rest and try to chill. If a miscarriage was in process at some point you would know that definitively, although I truly hope it's not. I know we as women go through all sorts of things while pregnant so hopefully that pain was just some crazy fluke and everything is going great. Hang in there!! If it were me I would just keep believing my baby was perfectly fine, and go for a check up in a few more weeks :D

The best thing you can do is try to relax, it's out of your hands at this point. I lost one baby so when I got pregnant this time I was nervous. I had already missed my period and went in for blood work; my HCG levels were 37...a lot lower than yours and now I'm 34 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl. Don't let the numbers scare you. I was sure I was going to miscarry again with numbers that low, and they just barely doubled in 48 hours.
Think positive thoughts and just take it easy until you find out what's next. Every pregnancy is different, numbers are different. Doctors just give you averages.
Good Luck!!!

Well, this probably won't help you relax, but the truth is that pregnancy symptoms don't neccessarily mean it's a healthy pregnancy. My first and last pregnancies I had severe pregnancy symtoms and still miscarried. At this point all you can do it wait and see - good luck!
