Do you have a plan in the event you are no longer around, unable to tend to the kids?
What do you mean by OTR? On the Road? Off the Record? Over the Rainbow? Off the Reservation?
My sister was a truck driver for Southwest Motor Freight and was gone for weeks at a time. She had a plan written out just in case. They were driving out west and had to stop before going over a pass to put on chains. They passed a bad accident on the way down and it had a long term effect on her.
Her and her hubby worked it out with a family member where they would step in and help hubby. So he could retrain to do another career. The chance of something happening to either one of them was slight of course but it could happen.
OTR is Over The Road. Yes, you must have a plan regarding OTR and any situation really. To not have one is irresponsible IMHO.
Yes, I had a plan when my daughter was a child. It's the only responsible thing to do. My daughter's psychological father would take care of her. He was already actively involved and capable. Later when I was married, to someone else, we took out life insurance on me because he would not be able to care for the children on his own.
