Ideas on How to Say "Thank You"

We have a wonderful neighbor who has been plowing us out... about 2-3 times this winter. Not all the way but enough so that if we need to get out we can and my husband finishes the rest when he gets out of work. I would like to do something to say thank you but I need some ideas. I’ve thought of baking something but I’m not confident I’m the best baker. Lol Any ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the great ideas! I think I'm going to go with the handwritten note and a gas card. I LOVE the beer idea but I really don’t know him well enough. He could be a recovering alcoholic for all I know! Thanks again!!

When in doubt, I usually find that 12 bottles of cold beer tend to go over well.

LOL... oh, the "punny" thing just crept up and bit me.

Thanks for helping us get plowed this winter.

A note with a gift/gas card would be my vote.

Start with a handwritten note! That still shows consideration more than texting "10Q" does. You don't need to be the best baker to make chocolate chip cookies, so you might give those a try - they're practically foolproof. Another thought: my husband shovels snow for many of the older people (read: older than we are!) on our block. One lady thanks us by taking us out to supper at a restaurant at least once a year.

Gift card to a local restaurant for about $30. That's always nice.

Baked goods are always a good idea. You can buy some muffins for instance and place them in a nice basket with some honey or jams, wrap with celephane. I would also add a $20 gas card. It may sound like a lot but if you paid someone to come and do it it would be $15- $20 each time.

Our neighbor has done this for us too! I baked cookies/muffins for them and added a card that just stated their kind gesture never goes unnoticed and we were most grateful for it. I am not the best baker either. I get those Betty Crocker/Pillsbury mixes and make cookies that way. They still turn out delicious and are easy to make even for us novice bakers!
The gift card to a local restaurant or gas card is a great idea too.

Handwritten thank you card.
And a gas gift card.
Or a handwritten thank you card and a bouquet of flowers.
Both are easily gotten and nice and appreciated by anyone and will not run you broke.

I would give a gas gift card, this is something that I am sure they could use. I know in PA it would cost about $70 dollars to get our driveway plowed each time. If you get more snow I would offer some coffee, hot chocolate and/or a snack while they are there.

I would usually put on a pot of coffee for the guy that plowed for us since he would be out most of the day. He was always grateful.

You don't have to be the BEST baker. I think something home made would be a lovely gesture, especially since it's obviously not easy for you to get out.
Banana bread is super easy and easily transportable.
I would make a card and put together a little basket of things. It will show the thought and thankfulness behind it.

Best wishes.

A casserole and a nice note. I would love to not have to cook or plan a dinner one night!

A gas card is appropriate since he's using gas to help you. It's also quick which sometimes doesn't thrill the recipient. Making something (if not baked goods, then make a dinner or casserole or soup, whatever you're good at, for great winter comfort food). It also shows that you are willing to put your time into something, and it acknowledges the time helps putting in. A $20 gas card and a homemade delicacy would be the perfect compromise. Or invite him to dinner to show you enjoy his company.

Give them a gift certificate to one of your local restaurants with a nice thank you card!!

I bet you aren't giving yourself enough credit when it comes to baking. Cupcakes are easy!!!

If you have a favorite recipe that you like to make - that you can freeze - like enchiladas or lasagne - make it put it in a foil container and take it over - with directions on how to re-heat!

Have fun!!!
