Ideas for Party Favors at Baby's First Bday??

I am getting ready to throw my baby's first birthday party, at my home, next month. There will be no other babies or children; it will only be family: our (my hubby's and my) parents, my grandparents, a few of my aunts, uncles and cousins, and my sister. Everyone is 19 or older (most older), except of course for the birthday boy! These relatives are coming from 3-4 hours away for this party (lunch and cake), and I want to have a nice party favor to give them, BUT I can't break the bank. Does anyone have any good ideas? I have only a couple so far:

1) Have some candies/chocolates custom-made at the bakery where I'm getting my baby's cake made. Wrap together in little bundles. (Downside: Could be expensive. Don't even know for sure the bakery does this.)
2) Find some cheap, simple picture frames (at the Dollar Store?) and put a cute fall picture of baby in it for everyone. We took some sweet pics at a pumpkin patch recently. (Downside: Could get expensive, depending on cost of frames. Don't know if everyone would want a framed pic of my baby. :)
3) Make a CD with pics of baby from birth to now. Obviously this would be cheap. (Grandparents would love this, but as for my aunts, uncles and cousins, it's a bit of a stretch. Besides everyone has probably seen most of the pics I'd put on there.)

So, anyone have any good ideas? I am open to making things, if it is fairly simple for the craft-impaired. :)Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Okay! Wow! So many great ideas. So here is what I decided to do. I found these cute, brightly colored magnetic photo frames at Walgreens (on sale, 2/$3...not the cheapest, but I love them). I got them in bright orange, yellow and green (borders) and put one of my son's sweet pumpkin patch photos in them. It looks so cute.
Additionally, I decided to do a little take-home treat bag, but it will be simple. The party is a puppy dog theme, so I'm planning to make a big tub of "puppy chow" (Chex cereal covered in melted peanut butter, chocolate & powdered sugar). So I will wrap up individual baggies of puppy chow in colored plastic wrap and tie them with a cute blue and brown polka dotted ribbon (our party colors) for the family members to take with them.
I agree with many of you that it's totally not necessary to do a favor at all, but I just wanted to. I think you have to do what you feel your particular guests would appreciate, and for coming all this way, I felt like my guests would appreciate a small gesture of thanks. I appreciate everyone's suggestions. The party is this Saturday, so keep your fingers crossed that it will go smoothly!

get some construction paper (whole book at the 1.00 store) get some little pieces of magnet, and a ball of yarn, either tape, or glue.

Cut out shapes - heart, round whatever. Take a new photo of baby and glue that to it. put a hole in the top with a piece of the string (kinda like, if it is an ornament)glue the piece of magnet on back. Write with a sharpie the baby's name and 1year old on the front.

If they care enough about this baby to drive all that way, they would LOVE a photo. That way, it is cheap on you, and they can either use it on the fridge or they have their first ornament of the year. :)

For adults, I like the picture and frame idea. It won't be that expensive depending on how many you have to make. Wallet size ones on magnets would be cute too. Even key chains or something that could be used as a Christmas tree ornament would work.

If you decide on the candy, you can do that yourself. You can buy the wilton chocolate at Micheals and even Walmart. If you don't want to buy the molds, use colors that go with the theme and then dip pretzels. Lots of people like chocolate covered pretzels. They would be nice on the 3-4 hour drive home.

Another thing if you are good on the computer is to get some Hershey bars and make your own label to put over them. Similar to the ones used for birth announcements. You could put a picture of the birthday boy and some fun facts about him, like his favorite foods, toys, songs.

Good luck and have fun.

As far as the candy idea, You could use Hershey Kisses and the Hugs and make little bundles and ad a label that says Lots of Kisses and Hugs from our family to you.

My parents recently went to a wedding where all out of town guests got a basket of goodies like snacks for on the road; (i.e. bottles of sodas, nut mix, fruit bars, etc.) to enjoy on the trip home. Their basket also included info on the local town attractions in case any out of towners were going to stay over. Since you mentioned that most of your relatives are coming from out of town, this might be an area to explore. Also, fall harvest/Halloween type stuff (baskets, etc.) will probably go on sale after Halloween. I still think a pic of baby would be nice to include. Maybe you don't have to get it framed?
Good Luck

I actually did the picture frame thing for my dd's 1st birthday. The $1 spot at target had a bunch of frames, and I got a few from the dollar store.

My friend took a bunch of baby jars to a place that made candles and had them make candles for favors. They had a label on them that said thanks for coming to her party...turned out really cute. Don't think it was too expensive.

I think the picture idea would be great. One variation on that would be making picture magnets. You can buy "magnet paper" where you find mailing labels, t-shirt transfers, and such at Walmart. Then you print them out on your own printer. If you don't have a good printer for printing pictures, you might see if Walmart or someone offers this service in the photo dept.

we did little photo books with a picture for every month for everyone. you can find the mini albums on sale some times for under a dollar. we personalised each book with pictures of the baby and the adult it was for and everyone loved it - even the non relatives. IF you are worried about the teenagers, just do a goodie bag of candy that you can probably get really good deals on after next week.
