Ideas for "Goody Bags"

A Princess Goodie Bag must have a necklace, bracelet, tiara, boa, wand candy jewels...

I look for cups with straws that I can put the kids names on with a sharpie and use at the party. Then I get brown paper bags and write their names on the bag. Inside each bag are tatoos that match the theme and then we have a pinata that is full of candy. After the party when I send out the Thank You card, I include a picture of the child at the party. The kids and parents have always loved the picture as a delayed party favor.

I actullay added a box of crayons and then I went to the dollar store and bought each kid an 9 X 11 pad of construction paper. That was the first thing every kid pulled out! They loved it.

I've been wondering if I am the only stick-in-the-mud that wishes goodie bags would go away. They can get so expensive based on the number of guests. But most importantly, do the kids really get that much value out of them? I try to do one significant item versus a bunch of throw-away stuff. But still, I just wish all Moms would protest the tradition. =)

Personally I just put themed stickers in it <whatever the party is> and a little goody bag type toy or bubbles. We then do a pinata and they add their candy to it. Always works well for us!

Small toys for the younger kids and maybe a gift card for the older ones.

Hi E.! I guess I didn't realize so much thought went into the goody bag! My son will turn one next week and the theme for his party is animals, so I just bought boxes of animal crackers that the kids can take with them! I figured since all the children that will be coming are under one, the animal crackers would work well, and save me a ton of money!
