Ideas for Christmas Baskets.

With Christmas coming I am in need of ideas for Christmas gift baskets. I have sent Lobster Grams, Gevalia Coffee baskets, Harry and David baskets, and Omaha Steaks to family. Does anyone have any other nice gift basket ideas? My family only does Christmas gift giving for children, not adults which I love, less to stress about. My husbands family always gives gifts and it's tough to find gifts for them, so we have stuck to nice food baskets.

Thanks for all responses!

They search for the perfect gift on your behalf and she is so creative. Just tell her who you are shopping for and what your budget is.... she will come back with different ideas and let you make the final selection.

Try Wolfermans.com. We've received some wonderful breakfast themed baskets from them in the past.

We have given spa baskets(bath accessories) out to women family members or to the teenaged girls in our fmaily before. You can fill the baskets yourself or they come pre-made too. You didn't mention if you were interested in other ideas besides the filling baskets, but if you are you can do gift certificates to a restaurant,or a Walmart Visa gift card to spend on whatever or wherever they want. It's just a few ideas that I hope helps you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I know it can be hard to try to buy for adult family members. One year for my Grandmother, we gave her a gift card to shop at the grocery store she likes to go to and she was very thrilled about that(esp being she is living off of S.S. and lives by herself).
Again good luck. Hope you and your families have a Safe & Happy Holidays!

Georgia has a gift catalog that has items only from GA. If course I can't find the catalog to give you the name as I just threw out all the magazines and catalogs! ARGH

I think it's something like Only in Georgia. California has them too. You might luck out and find that every state has a gift basket of local state items. Taht should take care of you for a few years, anyway. :)

Our family started the tradition of giving gifts of the heart. It's been such fun and no stress. We give the little ones things like a trip to the duck pond and a picnic, a special date to go to the movies, something simple. To the adults, we give a promise to babysitting time, a day of helping organize or do one of those chores that are overwhelming by yourself and fun with a group,or all the men pledge to do a home project some Saturday for all of the other men. My teenage son hates doing dishes, so his sister gave him 5 sponges to turn in through the year for 5 times that she would do the dishes. Another time, we got a stencil and drew out a basketball court on the driveway and painted it. The little kids give hugs, something they've drawn. Another child in the family thinks that she wants to learn to bace cakes, so we've arranged for a family friend to spend an afternoon with her making a special cake. My neice is teaching me to knit, so that will go on all year. The adults love special time as much as the kids do.

One of the best things we've started is the gift of "words." We have started writing letters to each other on major events telling how that person has impacted our lives. There are always lots of tears and laughter and the letters are kept forever. This year, we are gathering all of the nieces and nephews for a day of fishing, horseback riding, games. Our gift is to take family pics that day. We're not professional photographers but with digital cameras, we don't have to be. It's just taking the time to plan it and do it. It has really challenged our imaginations without hurting the budget.

Hope this helps...
S.

Why not give the gift of good health? Gift certificates for health services are a good thing. I am also offering good health baskets (you can make them yourself as well), perhaps one for the bathroom with shampoos, conditioners, body washes, toothpaste, mouthwash that are all made with healthy and eco-friendly (green) ingredients; a kitchen basket with herbs and spices, household cleansers maybe with reusable shopping bags/natural cleaners. Or give a "general health" basket with some vitamins/minerals, omega 3s, or body lotion. Doesn't have to be expensive. You may also want to donate to a charity in their name/honor. We are planning to do adoptions with WWF this year and give the adoption certificates/stuffed animals as gifts.

If your crafty and have time. Make a bunch of different flavored fudge. Find some cheap tins wrap pretty and send. 2 packages (8 ounce each) semi-sweet baking chocolate
1 can (14 ounce) sweetened condensed milk
1-2 tsp vanilla
Put chocolate and milk in microwave safe bowl (I use a giant measuring cup easier to pour out)
Microwave 1 minute stir then 30 stir 30 stir until all melted
add vanilla and any other mix in's.
Pour into a parchment paper or foil lined 8x8 dish, put into fridge until set. So this makes a ton. I made 3 different batches of fudge, 1 bark and some dipped spoons for coffee. I had enough to send to 12 people. Best compliment I received... my Mother-In-Law called wanted to know where we ordered it all. The fudge is so easy you can have the kids "help" Have a great Christmas...

If you don't have time I order from Wine & Country Gift Baskets. They have a huge selection and their prices from 20- 300. Merry Christmas!
