Some of the things my 3 year old daughter enjoys are doing art/crafty things, puzzles, stickers, playdoh, books.

For the 10 year old depending on what she's into...

clothing (if you know the style, colors she likes)
music, books, jewelry, movie tickets.

Is the 3 year old into princesses??? (Our daughter was at that age.) You can get Barbies that are the disney princesses and polly pockets too. Otherwise just get her the regular polly pockets, littlest pet shops, etc. The little girls are really into those little toys that they can keep with them easily. Our 4 1/2 year old daughter LOVES getting read ANY princess books.

As for the 10 year old. How about a game? Does she have any siblings? Blockus is a GREAT game. The normal one is for 4 players but I think I saw a special one for only 2..... BLOCKUS is a game that she will keep forever! Even adults enjoy playing it.

If she likes to read, I would ask her parents what she likes. If she likes kids I would get her a Babysitters Club book. Adventure, try Boxcar Children. Or you could give her more of a classic like the first book in the Little House on the Prarie set...... At 10 I think I remember still playing with Barbies and Littlest Pet Shops. So you could always give her something like that with a gift reciet attatched.....

Give the 3 year-old a gift certificate. She's at that age that people stop buying clothing or practical things as gifts, and mom might really like having the option to choose. Especially since little one probably has enough stuffed animals, pink stuff, and dolls already!

For the 10-year-old, get her something that will teach her a life-long hobby. Get her a knitting or crocheting starter set, or a starter scrapbooking set. Or, buy her a one-day crafting session to make PJs or knit a sweater, or make piece of pottery etc. at your local Michael's www.michaels.com or Joann Fabrics www.joann.com. Both stores run about about $20 per 1-day project and topics vary by project. Go to their websites for details .

Or you could always consider giving her a gift card to a book-store.

What I did for my twins when they were 3 was I took them to Build a Bear workshop and let them pick out their own stuffed animal (which to this day is their favorite) they got to add noise to the animal and I let them pick out 2 outfits.

When my niece turned 10 she loved gift cards to Aeropostale, American Eagle, Old Navy. The fun stores!!

My daughter is four, but still loves the same things as when she was 3. Anything princess, anything to do with crafts/coloring/painting/playdoh, dolls, dressing up, and playing pretend.

Here are a few ideas for the 3 yr old for you:

Play doctor's kit- they have a FP one at Toys 'R Us - she loves playing doctor with her dollies

Doll clothes/bottles/accessories- they have little diaper bag kits with the "necessities" or a doll bed or doll stroller

Games- Chutes and Ladders, Candyland, The Ladybug Game, etc.

Glitter Paint/Princess/Tinkerbell or something similar

Anything for dressing up or playing pretend- fairy stuff- wands, skirts, princess stuff, kitchen stuff, a kids apron, toy food

For the 10 year old, it depends on what she's into-

Anything crafty that she can make (they have kits at Walmart, Michaels, and Target, too, I think)- maybe bead jewelry that she can personalize

Books- Nancy Drew, Choose Your Own Adventure

Games- not sure which ones, but there are a ton out there

Good luck! I'm sure whatever you give will be great!

my three year old loves the crafty stuff too. she has been very into play doh lately. we also got a ton of kids games for her birthday and she is thrilled with them.

I think you can never go wrong with books! My daughter will be three next month and she loves reading so much we sometimes read 20 books per day.
Some of our favorites are:

-The "Olivia" books by Ian Falconer

-"Sweetbriar Goes to Camp", "Hilda Must be Dancing" and the "Sakes Alive! A Cattle Drive" by Karma Wilson

-"Stinky Smelly Feet, A love Story" by Margie Pallatini

-"Evie and Margie" by Bernard Waber

-"Knuffle Bunny" and "Knuffle Bunny Too" by Mo Willems

I hope you have a wonderful time at the party!

My 3 year old nieces LOVE Littlest Pet Shop stuff, Barbies,Princess things (dress up, games, etc) and Polly Pockets. They love games...Hungry Hippos was a hit as well as Elefun.

My 9 year old daughter LOVES horses...books, games, pictures, etc. American Girl stuff is a huge hit, too. She and her friends also love Littlest Pet Shop things. Crafts are always a hit with the kids of all ages. Hope this helps!
