Ideas for Adult Party

My husband is turning 27. His birthday has been less than spectacular the last couple years. We've had a real tough couple of days and I would at least like this birthday to be memorable. I've heard of, but haven't been able to find, places for adults to have fun. Not the naughty kind of fun, but the places where they have climbing walls, the inflatable obstacle courses, and anything like that.

Thanks for the ideas so far! My husband is not an eater, he eats all the high class places for lunch with his work, so he's ready for junky pizza when he gets home. I was going to surprise him with dinner at the Amazon Grill with family and then an Aeros game, but he might have to go out of town for that weekend. My plans will be shot! I was hoping to keep it low key with disgusting, cheap junk food. Just want to make memories more than anything.
Ideally, I'd like this to not cost a fortune and be able to have a few friends and family around. Any ideas Mamas (or Papas, if you're out there)??
Thanks!
Rachel

I don't know of a place like that, I know there is rock climbing around here somewhere cause I had a friend whose husband did it. I think most men love food. For val's day I made my husband crab legs, shrimp, a big steak, a huge plate of food, he was on cloud nine told me this was the best(and I have had parties for him), this was special cause we don't eat like that we have casseroles, chicken, things like that. Could you order omaha steaks, get lobster, whatever his favorite is. You can then watch a movie, have friends over, poker party, send him out with his friends, bowling, lazer tag, paintball, buy him a new video game, etc. Hope this helps a little.

Could you just have a few friends and family over for hot dogs and birthday cake? We don't always have to go somewhere to have fun. Sometimes, just visiting is nice.

If you have Rock Band or Guitar Hero World Tour you can have a Battle of the Bands. Lot of fun have everyone dress in Rock clothes make set list and have fun. You need lots of chips and dips. Cream Cheese and Raspberry Chipotle sauce over top, cheese dip, Chili cheese dip(one can Wolf Brand chili 1 small velveeta block heat and eat) Cocktail sausages with barbeque sauce.Veg tray, grapes and of course cake.I made cupcakes and topped with guitar picks. Drinks of choose.

Don't buy tickets anywhere if your husband may go out of town. Too much of a commitment for something you all may not go to.

Go bowling! There's nothing like smelly shoes and throwing large and heavy balls in quasi-darkness after a few drinks of the adult nature, that brings a family together and makes memories.

A gun range would make for an unforgettable birthday, though you won't be able to take the kids. It was all very, very safe and very stress releasing. We went to an indoor range where alot of cops went for practice. We took a short psych eval, signed tons of waivers and got to pick our own gun (I have small hands so they gave me a .9ml but I switched to a .22cal). After a short lesson on gun range etiquette and firing lessons with a trained instructor we got to fire away. Believe me, your husband will not soon forget target practice with his family as well as the hideous orange ear protectors they make you wear, on his birthday.

I went to a cheap and tacky food party once. I brought a plate of Oreo's topped with canned whipped cream swirls and everyone LOVED them. Took home an empty plate! A similar salty snack could be ritz crackers topped with canned spray cheese. Yum!

You can also just throw a costume party at home and have everyone either dress up from the 70's or 80's or worse, as a character on the Disney channel, even the adults. Good luck and hopeyou have fun whatever you do!

If it were my husband, he would want chili dogs and lots of dessert and just a fun time to visit with friends.

There is a place right out side of town that looks pretty cool. They have bumper cars, paintball, mini golf, batthing cages, etc.
I have never been there but looks pretty cool

It is called Green
Acers.http://www.greenacresgolfandgames.com/

I think that Dave & Busters is a lit of fun to. Rent out there party room and pool table.

Or even think about rent a park and field and set up a softball game and pinic foods. To reserve a pavaillion at Brackenridge is only like $45.00

It's time for a Trailer Trash Party....Weather is Awesome lately, so pull out the blow up pool, ice cooler & lawn chairs, cook some Dawgs on the grill and have everyone come dressed in their mullets, Cut off shorts, wife beaters, bare feet & baby in a diaper only....I've had a few friends have this type of party and everyone really gets into them...One party was bring your own cooler & chairs...So it was funny to see everyone bring the cheap alum. folding chairs...

A friend of mine setup a party at a laser tag place for her husband one year when he was about that age. The wives went to play too and it was SO much fun! There was a pretty large group of us and I had never played before, but it was a blast. We played a couple of games and split up into different teams each time. We even played a guys vs. girls game once. Too funny. I'm not sure how much it cost and it was several years ago, but you may want to look into it. We just had pizza and snacks and stuff there, so the food wasn't gourmet, but we had a good time together. I think I have seen a laser tag place on Hwy. 6 in Sugar Land, but I haven't been there, so I don't know anything about it. I hope you find something fun to do!
