Ideas for a Super Small Birthday Party
My son is about to turn 5. I only probably have about 5 kids maximum. I'm looking for a celebration idea for a small group. I'm open to anything! I would like for it to be outside of the home so it feels special. And I don't want to pay an establishment a big fee for 5 kids...rather take the $ and do something special with the few...Thought maybe there might be something unique and interesting that I'm not thinking of......Thanks!!
PS Outdoors is not an option. We're in Texas....105 degree weather!! ;)

5 kids is a PERFECT number for this age! Not too small at all.
How much do you want to spend? Not super unique, but... My five year old son LOVES the movies... we don't go to the theater that often, so he thinks its fabulous. I know he and his friends would be thrilled to all get to go to the movies together! You can get those little kid boxes so each kid gets there only little popcorn, soda and candy. Go for lunch before or icecream after, it'd be really special!

Not super unique, but the park is a great idea! Fun and easy, especially for a small group.

How about Grapevine Mills Mall: they have Legoland (a blast!!!), Rainforest Cafe (all kids love this) and a new aquarium.
Have fun!

bowling, ice skating, roller skating, mini golf, go carts/bumper cars
5 year old boys find all of that fun and exciting if it's something they don't get to do often. Is there a theme park anywhere near your house? A special kids movie they all want to see?

My son is gonna be 3 in a couple weeks and i am doing a small thing for him and a couple friends along with their parents. I am taking them to the local aquatic center where they have a small water park area for kids. It is so hot out right now i knew it had to be something where everyone could keep cool and figured something like this would be inexpensive and fun for everyone. THe one we are going to is called Cimmaron Aquatic center in Valley Ranch, but I know they have one in Carrollton as well and i am sure they have one closer to you. The one we are going to is $3 for adult residents and $2 for kids over 4. Kids 3 and under are free. Just something to look into in your area

We did a build a bear party. Not as expensive as you might think. I think you are supposed to have 7 kids minimum but check with the local shop. (who says you can't do it any way. But they may not have a "host" from the shop for you). You can make $10 bears or $15 or $20 for their "party packages." I thought I would have 10-15 kids so even if we did $20 bears it would be $200-$300. I had 13 kids and we did $20 bears but because some kids did not understand the concept of money they spent less! (The store host will keep the kids under. Its their job so you don't have to explain to the kids that what they want is too much) Bsically the kids were encouraged to get a $10 bear. If they got a more expensive one they didn't get clothes. Everyone who got a $10 bear was shown a $10 outfit to add. I told them the birthday girls wouldn't have a budget but I would keep her in check (I think her's was $30) If we went over $200 we got $20 off. We had put in a $50 deposit when we booked (for us it was 2 mos in advace). THe day of the party when all was said and did the balance was $158. Not bad. I made cupcakes and we ate them outside and opened presents and that was that. It was about 2.5 hours total. We had activity pary favors everything all in one. A super cute thing they did was they give the birthday child a special bear that everyone gets to sign. So cute. My daughter was turning 3 so we had some cute scribbles from some kids. Random letters from others and some had just learned how to write their name. If I didn't think it was overkill to do it every year I wouold! You can earn rewards dollars that your son can go back and spend later so that is fun. I did just get a flier in the mail that any animal/any outfit/any shoes is $29 this month!!! That could be half off if it works out for you. Have a fun birthday party! (I think a movie might be a good idea too for another option)
