Our family uses iCloud for our apps, etc on our iPhones, iPods , iPads. Can I somehow download them onto a nook or do I have to start from scratch getting things on the nook? Sorry I am not very tech savvy, so need pretty basic instructions on what to do. I 'm trying to set up this nook for my three yr old. It was my daughters but she rarely used it so it has very little on it. I 've not messed with it at all.

What can I do next?

If it's a Nook HD, it uses Nook Apps and Google Apps. You do haves to start from scratch, but you can should be able to get most of the same Apps. If it's a Nook Color or Nook Tablet you can only use Nook Apps. Either way, yes, you have to start from scratch.

Barnes and Noble does off a free app very Friday. Just type "Free Fridays" into the search box. The offer a free book and a free app. The free app is almost always kid friendly and very often educational.

You have to start from scratch. They are completely different operating systems.

Pretty sure that Nooks use Android apps, not Apple apps.
