I Was Given 5 Lbs. of Peppermint Bark and Don't Know Any Recipes to Use It
I found one recipe so far at elise.com but every time I type in Peppermint Bark Recipes I get recipes to make it not use it. It expires soon so I really need recipes asap. I love to bake and love the flavor of peppermint so PLEASE send me any recipes I can use this bark in.
Well, as I said the box has an expiration date of 4-23-08, I have no idea why the item goes bad but anyway I try to use things by the expiration date. I can't eat the whole box in a short time so that is why I need recipes to put it in. I can give some as gifts but would like to use some in different desserts for my family to enjoy.
The box has tiny chunks (smaller than chocolate chips) of white chocolate peppered with peppermint pieces, round candies that look like crushed plain M & M's that are flavored with peppermint, and crushed candy canes.
I thought about taking little baggies of the bark to Relief Society in the morning as gifts but would really like to have a couple of recipes to pass out too.

Hey, G..
Sometimes the company who makes the product will have online recipes. Until you find some though you can seal it tightly and freeze it. The air you leave in the bag will will make it go stale more quickly.
Try this site. I just typed in peppermint. http://allrecipes.com/Search/Ingredients.aspx
Good luck!

If it is chocolate, then here i an idea for you.
Melt down the chocolate pieces, take regular plastic spoons (you can get the colored ones to make it really pretty) dip the spoon part in powdered sugar and then into the chocolate thats been melted. Let them harden, then take pre cut sections of colored plastic wrap and wrap them pretty, secure with the thin satin ribbon and place them in a basket with the instructions, "just add warm milk and stir! Hot Chocolate!" with a touch of mint ;) Hope this gives you an idea or two. You can even stick a few mini marshmellows to the almost hard chocolate for a little extra treat :)

WOW! Your dilemma sounds exciting! I am also an avid baker and love getting recipes of all types. I've got to say though I've never had a box of peppermint bark! This sounds like something I'd also like to have and work with in my kitchen. I enjoy giving away my treats and sometimes sell them in the open market where I live. I'd suggest googling the word peppermint bark for recipes. Also, you might try going to foodtv.com for more recipes. How about paula dean recipes? She's an excellent baker/cook with yummy down-home recipes! And if/when you find some recipes will you please share them with me? By the way, I'm a mom of 3, step-mom of 2 all full grown and a grandmom of 1. I live in Mexico although my status here says I'm in the states. it wouldn't allow me to use my zip from my own state/country. Happy Baking G. B.

Good Morning, G.!!
Hey, it's now getting to where you can have some summer time fun...make some homemade icecream. Use your favorite vanille or chocolate recipe for icecream and just add your chips.
Have fun!!

Hi G.,
Go to Food.com, in the recipes section you can choose (far left) the ingredients you want to use in a recipe-it's also great when you have several items in pantry/freezer and NO ideas for dinner.
I hope it helps...OH-check out Martha Stewart's website too-it has a similar feature where you can choose ingredients. Seems like Martha would have More than anyone else with Peppermint Bark.
Oh-the only recipe I can think of is covered pretzels-you could melt some chocolate chips and dip them then dip again w/ the Peppermint Bark-Mint Cho covered Pretzels...??
If you don't use it-can it be frozen??
Good Luck,
C. :-)
