I Want to Wear My Dress!!!

I have three weeks till my wedding and I feel rather defeated tonight. It has been almost three weeks since my ACL surgery. I can straighten my leg perfectly and have a 110 degree bend back. Still it is nothing compared to my 145 bend in my good knee. Still better than 85 when I first started rehab.

Still I cannot do more than five minutes on the elliptical. I don't really want to lose weight, okay maybe a little, I want my muscle tone back. I want to put on my heals and dress and walk like a normal person. Right now my knee is swollen so I can't work it, my muscles are revolting by cramping up. My body is rebelling against my mind.

All I can think is three weeks, soooooo much to do!!!!! *pouts*

Maybe I could pop some drugs and work out? No nononononono bad J.!!! Grrrrr

Okay can someone please cheer me up before I start kicking the cat? I already ripped on some poor pregnant woman who wanted handicapped tags. What's next, stealing candy from a baby? Y'all keep Troy in your prayers, he is being a trooper tonight cause I am in a mood.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Honestly! why do they delete the one that actually has comments!!! and before I could flower them. They were really great responses too. I loved the swagger comment!!!! :)

Dawn I could kick him with the good leg. :p Except he is sleeping so cute, flat kitty. :p I will wear the shoes, my stubbornness is legendary!

Christi, I loved your post, both of them. I didn't know that measuring thing had a name, I just kept calling it lier. I am so glad you showed them!

Meg, I will be sure to post a pic after the wedding. My daughter is my maid of honor, do you think it is asking too much to ask her to tuck my muffin top in? The dress has laces and the top is a corset, if you don't stuff it right you get a muffin top at your shoulders, very unattractive.

No you crazy lady, you cant pop drugs and workout and you cant kick the cat.

Just eat lots of fruits and veggies and drink lots of water. It will make you feel skinny.

Why did the pregnant lady want handicap tags?

Hey! Where did my response go? I have to type this again!?!
So, what I said basically was that I know how you feel. I had a car accident 13 years ago and amongmy other injuries, my knee exploded. I broke every bone, and tore every muscle, tendon, and ligament in there. I had lots of surgery and did 6 years of physical therapy after the doctors gave my family the "She will probably never walk" speech.
I had an amazing physical therapist and good praying family to get me through it.
I had to giggle when you were talking about how many degrees you could bend. I used to push so hard to get just one more degree! Oh, I feel for you.
Now I wear a brace all the time and I have almost full extension, and not as much bend as I would like, but I am so happy with how much I have gained.
You will get back in those heels honey, and if you don't, look at it the way I do... I don't limp, I swagger!

LOL! Wedding stress and injury recovery stress togehter, just what evey bride to be needs!

Well honey, pull on your "big girl panties" (Spanx, I suggest), and lace up some cute white bridal tennis shoes, and slide right into that dress.....believe me, the high heels would be killing not only your injured knee, but your feet by the end of the day anyway - it is a long dress, right? No-one will notice your shoes, and if you bedazzle some Keds or something, and someone gets a glimpse of them, they will just think "how cute and how smart" and you won't have to deal with pain in the morning!

Great answers. I attended a wedding after which the bride had all her pictures taken as she was beautifully perched on a bar stool. This allowed her to rest up a bad leg for her dance at the reception. The pictures took forever and the stool never showed!

My friend's grandma made the Bride and Bridesmaids Bedazzeled keds. They were beautiful! BTW, the Bride had broken her left wrist and had a cast. She begged and won to have it taken off the night before her wedding, and promised to get a new one the next Monday.

You could also get or make a stylish waist high walking cane to help with the walk down the aisle

OOOOh, here's an 'out there idea'. Have someone carry your fancy shoes on a pillow like Cinderella (like the ring bearer pillow) down the aisle. Then you walk down barefoot or in funny fuzzy slippers. When you get to Troy, he slips the shoes on you proving that you are his Cinderella!! Then once you walk/wabble down the aisle as hubby and wife change back to Keds or the fuzzy slippers.

Congrats!

Ask the PT person about a knee or leg support type of brace. I wore one, it was 30 years ago but I know they still make them and much better now. I got tackled playing softball in college and have staples in my knees. I wore a metal brace to support my knee and leg to keep it from bending sideways. It relieved the pressure on the joint and allowed me to move about and walk relatively pain free.

I see big fluffy slippers sliding down the isle. And a chair waiting for you.. Its gonna be done and over soon. Ice that knee everyday. and no PT the day before the wedding. No kicking the cat. (o:
