The Walk at home tapes Jeanne refers to are Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Walk etc etc.... you can do it at home in little space. Very easy to follow.

I am doing weight watchers and I have lost 31 pounds so far. It is a good program, as it allows you to eat all varieties of foods, which is a must when cooking for a family.

I wish you the best.

Not sure where you are located, but I have been looking for a workout buddy too...I go to LA Fitness...I love working out, but sometimes can not get motivated. I know they have some great family plans...no money down to add someone - anyone want to be my sister? hee hee

If anyone is interested - I need to lose about 20+ lbs and just basically get in shape!

Good luck to you all!!

I've lost about 30 pounds in the past several months and although I still have a few more pounds to go, I can tell you what I'm doing.

Along with eating more healthy foods, I've been incorporating more activities into my day rather than be a part of an exercise program. I've been taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator, parking futher away, going outside more when I get home and when I do watch tv, sit on the floor and do crunches or leg lifts and such. It's a bit slower than a standard workout, but something that I can incorporate easily without having the possibility of making excuses to stop.

If you do want an exercise program, Denise Austin has 2 30-mintue programs back-to-back in the mornings I believe on Lifetime. I've watched them before and she's a great motivator, although at times I want to throw a rock at the tv because she's so perky! :)

I am glad you are starting to get a hold of this now, while you are young. I ran a marathon in 2003 for American Stroke, but went through a nasty divorce, stopped running, got out of shape...And now I am 37...( I was 32 when I did the marathon). Don't let it go that far without treating it and getting on a normal eating regimen. Do something you love to do for exercise..sports, walks, swimming and mix it up. FitTV is great for variety. Find a workout buddy. That is the best thing to keep you accountable. I recently started training for a sprint triathlon and that has helped me . The group needs its members to come and attend runs, bike rides etc...so it motivates me. Most of all ...DO THIS FOR YOU...the minute you start doing it for the wrong reasons..you will have a harder time....You are worth all the work!!
God bless and good luck,

We bought a stepper from Craigslist for $200 that retails for well over $1000. My sister got a treadmill for $10 off there that's really nice. If you're looking for good exercise equipment, that's a great place to start! I know I'm more likely to exercise if it's in the comfort of my own home instead of a gym.

Hey A., Im right there with you, Im detoxing first and having a great GREEN drink in the morning in my Vita mix then I walk my boxer for an hr.and good muli vitamin well first I think *you are what you eat*cut the proccess foods and the sugar. have you heard of a rebounder ? its a sml. trampaline, you can put it in front of the tv if you like .. you dont have to jump just move your feet up n down its wonderful ,,

I have the Slim in Six (beachbody.com) videos. I started them about a year ago and lost 2 inches in my waist in 2 weeks. I lost interest and actually just started again this week. The first video is about 30 minutes, then there is a 45 minute one as well as a ab workout. I haven't done the diet side of it but it has a food chart to follow and some suggested menus. Warning-take it easy on your squats and plies the first week-I over did it a month ago and couldn't walk the next day! :) Good luck!
