Hi ladies,
I am very active in my church and always going to different gatherings or birthday parties, work functions or what not and I always bring some type of dip. My favorites (that are borrowed, not my own by the way, but I use them anyway!!) are a baked potato dip, Cowboy caviar (blackeyed pea dip...sounds weird, but gets eaten EVERYTIME), 7 layer dip, spicy bean dip or a cream cheese and hot jelly dip, but I'm kinda over them and want something to knock peoples socks off. I would really like a recipe if you have one (I'm not very creative!!) or a least a general idea of how to prepare it and what you serve w/ it. Also, if you want the recipes to one of the dips I listed that are my favorites let me know and I'll be happy to share!

What can I do next?

hi there, these are two of my favorite dips...hope you enjoy

Rotel dip

1 can rotel (any variety)
1 pack cream cheese

simply microwave for 1min 30 secs and then stir, microwave again for 1 to 1min 30 secs, serve with tortilla chips

Apricot dip

1/2 apricot preserves (or jelly)
2 jalepenos (remove seeds) diced small
1 to 1 1/2 c. pecans crushed

bring ingredients to boil and let simmer for 5 min, por over brick of cream cheese (flattened)

it doesn't sound as good as it is. you can add some jalepeno seeds if you want a spicy dip, without seeds you only get the jalepeno flavor......absolutely delicious

Many Blessings,
T.

This is more like a chip & dip in one and it's something different.

Artichoke cups:

1tbl Vegetable Oil
24 square Wonton Wrappers
1 can(14oz.) Artichoke hearts in water, drained and chopped
1/2 med red bell pepper
1/4 c. grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1 Lemon
2 tbl. finely chopped fresh parsley
1/2c shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4c. Mayo
1 garlic clove pressed
Additional fresh Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 Brush one side of wonton wrappers with oil. Press wrappers into each cup of mini muffin pan. Bake 6 minutes or until edges are lightly brown. Remove from oven and set aside. Mix artichoke, chopped bell pepper, grated Parmesan cheese, zest lemon, parsley, mozzarella, mayo, garlic mix well. Spoon about 1 tbl of dip into wonton cups sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese Bake 8 min or until edges are brown and dip bubbles. Serve immediately.
I'm sure this would be yummy with spinach also.

S.,

I make a Chicken Enchilada Dip that is sooo good. You will need:

2 cans Cream of Chicken
2 cans Rotel (however hot you want it)
1 16oz container Sour Cream
cooked, cut up chicken
green onions

You mix it all together and serve it warm with chips. It is always a hit with my family. People will think you have put a lot of work into it, even though you only use 5 ingredients.

Best of Luck!

I am excited to hear your responses! :) Have you made a spinach dip? On the back of the Knorr vegetable soup packet there is a recipe for hot spinach dip (or cold if you like that). I also have a personal recipe for hot spinach artichoke dip, but the other one is just as good!

A very easy fruit dip:

1 reg size jar marshmallow creme
1 reg size cream cheese softened
2-3 teaspoons orange juice
the zest of half a lg orange or all of a small one

Fold all ingredients together, chill and serve with your favorite fruits.

I did fruit kabobs once with grapes, strawberris halved, sliced bananas, pineapple. They were a big hit, and people love this dip!

Good luck!

Here is a Yankee family favorite. It is Italian Tomato Dip

1 pkg cream cheese (the regular size)
1 pkg powder Italian dressing mix
1 can V8 juice (you will not use it all)(You can also use regular tomato juice)
couple drops of Tabasco sauce

Soften cream cheese and add dressing mix. Combine V8 juice until dip is creamy, like dip should be. Add Tabasco to taste.

Use this with veges or crackers.

P.S. I would love to have your baked potato dip recipe.

I'd LOVE to have your recipies for Baked Potato Dip, Cowboy Caviar, & Spicy Bean dips.

Have you tried HEB's spinich dip? It is delicious and goes well w/ a crusty bread or crackers. By the time you buy all the ingredients for a dip you can buy one premade for the same price. I've used this dip so many times and everyone raves about it.

FAST AND VERY EASY!!!

Avocados
Cream
Cotija Cheese (Mexican type of cheese, very salty that you can find in any Mexican store like meat market La Michoacana)
Drops of Lime (to avoid the avocados to turn black)

Smash everything together and that's it!!!

Serve with tortilla chips.

I'd love to have your baked potato dip and the cowboy cavier dip. I don't have any dip recips to share with you but my personal fav is TGIFridays' spinach / artichoke dip. You can buy it at Sams Wareshouse and it is wonderful. It is about $10 for 2 trays of it and well worth it. I warm it up, dress it up and put out with whatever we are using with it. Sometimes it's crackers or chips. I have also taken kings hawaiian bread, hollowed it out and but the dip in there. Spread the pieces of bread that you pull out of the middle of the loaf around the edges to put the dip on. Very yummy!

If you like seafood, there is a recipe for clam dip on the back of the Progresso baby clams cans (at least there used to be). I don't remember exact measurements (I always double or triple it anyway), but the basics are:

2 cups sour cream
1 can clams (sometimes I mix whole baby clams and chopped or minced clams)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tsp dill weed
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp lemon juice

refrigerate for at least one hour so the flavors will blend
