My daughters trike broke earlier today and I can't seem to fix it. My husband and I decided to buy her a new one. I was curious if any other moms out there have recently bought a trike or riding toy. OR if anyone had a preferred type of riding toy for an above average in height three year old. I don't want to go to Meijer and buy her one that isn't suitable. Thank you :)

So What Happened?

We bought her a bike and also received a trike from the local freecyle group. She prefers the trike but has been attempting to ride the bike a little. Thank you so much for all the wonderful advice :)

Both my little ones had the Red Rider it is a metal trike and comes in two sizes on with one step on the back and one with two steps on the back. Can cost a bit depending on where you but it but makes a lot of memories. My kids both had the two step one it does not ride different but lasts longer.

I bought the Kettler "fold & go" trike with the push handle. I bought it from Learning Express Toy store for $69.99. This is very well made & fits in your car. We also bought the seat belt for it, so we can use instead of a stroller!

We have a Kettler trike. It's one of the best out there. There are lots of different kinds, so you would have a good selection to choose from.

My daughter is almost three and we just got her a small two-wheeler with training wheels. She had a tricycle before that that also broke (the wheel got smashed by the garage door) and we were going to buy her another one but we decided to get her a bigger bike because she can use it for longer. I wasn't sure if she could do it but it only took her about 10 minutes and she had it mastered. She absolutely loves it. If you try one, don't forget a helmet!

At that age we baught a two wheeler with training wheels for my son. The small ones come in two sizes now. He is now the height of an average five year old and the bike is a bit small, he rides it still but complains of his knees hurting. It took him a little while to get use to the new bike but he loved it.

My son has a trike that i got off of toysrus.com i got it for 9.99 and it has a solid metal frame.. they always have good deals. i also picked him up a bike at big lots. it's got training wheels and is tigger themed, although it is alittle harder for him to pedal he likes it and the price was good too. Also my 2 year old seen his cousins playing on a scooter and walmart carries a 3 wheeled scooter thats also priced under 25. My son loves all three and really doesn't have a favorite.. the scooter tough doesn't go good in grass so if you have a black top driveway it would be a good buy if not then I would stick with a trike or bike. good luck!!
