I am looking for a good vet for my 8 week old chocolate lab. I prefer the Keller or Southlake area and a vet that is reasonable in pricing.

What can I do next?

My huband is a Vet. at Alliance Animal Health Care it is off of Heritage Trace Blvd. They offer puppy packages which will save you some money. I was not to sure where you lived in Keller. We have a two labs a choc. and black and just love them. They make such wonderful pets.

We live in Keller, but we go to the Roanoke Animal Hospital to see Dr. Tracey Sackman (817- ###-###-####
513 Byron Nelson Blvd. Roanoke, TX 76262 http://www.roanokeanimalhospital.com/). We love it there. The staff is always helpful when I come dragging in there with our 100 pound lab and two kids! And Dr. Sackman is great...she gives us lots of options. I never feel talked in to anything. Until last year our 8 year old lab has only seen one doctor. We were pretty happy with her previous vet, but it seemed like each time I went in I was talked into more and more expensive treatments for her ear infections and skin issues. I reluctantly left. I am so glad I did! I wish I went to Dr. Sackman a lot earlier!!

MR-

I highly reccomend Alta Vista Animal Hospital in Keller ###-###-####. I know it would be a bit of a drive (it's off of golden Triangle Blvd) but it is worth it. I have been going to them for two years and I am always satisfied with the service and the BILL!! They are a no frills country style office but they are professional and don;t charge an arm and leg like some of the othe vets in town! I started out with a vet in Southlake and for my dogs anual visit it was $300...Alta Vista charged me half of that and did the exact same thing! Good luck!

I am going to 2nd Roanoke Animal Hospital. They are very affordable and give you a price upfront before anything is done so there are no surprises. It is clean and the staff is great.

I would stay away from Alta Vista in Keller. I loved it when Dr. Long was there but now it's a new Dr. Our personalities don't mesh and the office isn't as clean as it use to be. The prices were always good though. She was totally unsympathetic when my dog had a brain tumor and actually misdiagnosed it. She also did not set a friend of mine's dog's leg correctly and it healed horribly wrong to the point it had to be amputated.

We love Keller Animal Clinic. No extra expensive tests yet they provide excellent appropriate care. And they are very kind and good with kids as well as animals (HA!). We have two dogs we take there. I ended up Keller Animal Clinic one Sat morning after moving (6 years ago) when I got up to find our 10 yr old dog had thrown up blood overnight! Loaded her in the car and drove South on 377 and stopped at the first vet I found open. They took her immediately and great relationship was born. We, regrettfully, had to put that dog down last week and once again they were very kind and great with my kids throughout the whole process from decision through greiving. Anyway, I highly reccommend Dr. Roudon, ###-###-####.
