"I Need a Drink" Moments?

I made my 2 y/o and 6y/o take a nap because they have been crab asses all day. Baby was sleeping so I thought what a perfect opportunity to shower. I take the baby in her bouncer into my bathroom and get naked. She starts screaming. I thought I better check her butt before I hop in the shower. Sure enough, poop. So, I scoop her up, take her to the pack n play in my room to change her, realize I am out of diapers in the pack n play, so I run to her room to get a diaper (still naked) ooops, the shades are open. I get back to my room, start changing her diaper and realize I left the garage door open. Dont want someone to come in and steal my kids while Im in the shower, so I run across my house (still naked) the entire back of my house is a wall of windows. Awesome! All while milk is leaking out of my boobs. Finally, back in the bathroom were I proceed to take the quickest shower of my life because the baby is screaming her face off. Phew. A HUGE margarita sounds great right now!

Have you had any "I need a drink" moments lately?

My mom had a mastectomy today and I am 1000 miles away. So to take my mind off of it I took my daughter to the pool...where after 15 min she slips falls and busts her mouth. Blood everywhere. Come home and find out the dog has gotten into the trash...and eaten a bunch of used feminine products. And... while I was typing this I had to stop because the dog stole bread out of my daughters hands and got a finger in the process. No blood or anything just a lot of tears.

Funny!! I'm always running around my place naked! No AC and I just get hot and take off the sundress and then forget and need to go get something from another room and the front door is wide open so I can get a breeze through the screen...

I learned this from my mom, I guess, who ALWAYS cleaned house in the nude!! I can hardly call up one memory of her with a broom or mop in her hand with a stitch of clothes on!

I am just glad to know I am not the only one who runs around their house naked.

My favorite was Troy was at the store and I decided since I was getting in the shower anyway I would change the valve I had just put in upside down so hot was cold and cold was hot. I thought, or perhaps didn't think, that I didn't need to turn the water off cause I wasn't pulling it out but only rotating it. Well of course the pressure blew it out and I go running down to the shut off cause water is blasting out of the faucet. Troy came home while I was in the basement, what cha doing?

You mean you haven't heard of nude plumbing? :p

We had a beer after I got out of the shower, totally understand where you are coming from. :)

Oh I always have need a drink moments at work, my boss is vile.

I needed to go to the bank to get money orders, cash, and transfer money to a different acct. I had checks to cash too. Its hot, like 106 today. I have my grand daughter with me. I got her in the hot car, got to the bank, stood in line, had our turn, I talk too much, Got done, go back out to the car, buckle her back in the even hotter car, get in and start it, half way home realize they didnt give me the cash I asked for. Go back in a panic, park, get out, unbuckle her, hurry in, stand in line again, hoping to get the same gal,, got up to her window and tell her, dripping with sweat, she didnt give me the $250. I have all the deposit and withdrawl slips, and no cash,, She gasped, eyes wide, mouth open, and says "OMG youre right" and hands me $250 cash. Get it in my purse, go back out in the heat, buckle grand daughter back in again, and head home. I dont drink, but I will take a bucket of ice water right now!

You literally just described my life almost daily. (before and after work or on the weekends). I am not being silly. I am constantly running across the house naked, windows and blinds open, because I left the garage door open or someone is crying or the baby pooped and I was just about to get in the shower. OMG.

Then I go to work and deal with THAT stress.

Maybe I should drink more. Would it help?

I knew Molly was a little off today - I could tell in your responses. =)

This is one I read in readers digest:

The mom is putting clothes in the washing machine in the basement and decides to wash her house dress too . . . and then her underwear too. Then she is going to take the clothes out of the dryer and feels a drop of water land on her head so she sees her son's foot ball helment and puts it on. She goes up stairs wearing only the football helmet and the meter reader is reading the meter by the open back door. He says, "Lady, I'll vote for your team any time."

You just have to keep smiling.

Good luck to you and yours.

Oh lordy yes! almost everyday. Unfortunately, I cannot drink because I am 5 months pregnant. Sometimes I think if I was a drinker and smoker, I would be drinking a 5th and smoking through 2 packs a day.
My daughter is 3 and is at her absolute most challenging right now and just......aaaaaggghhhh! I do not remember my other 3 like this at all. I tell people she is 3 going on 12 because she tries to be just like her older brother and sisters in EVERY way.

BTW, I think Jennifer should get the bigger glass.

I too have a wall of windows and mine faces our neighbors. we do have a fence but you can still see over one part of it, but this does not stop me from walking around topless or in a bra and undies. I don't really care if anyone see's me and believe me, it is not a pretty sight. I did notice a new curtain on their kitchen window the other day, which oddly enough, offended me:)

I think your post made me need a drink. I am still at work so im sure when i get home I will have at least one I need a drink moments.

I came up with one that I remember, hubby decides that its been a while since he's been golfing so schedules a golf day with some friends. I was going to take the kids to the rec center to go swimming. They are at the table eating breakfast and I heard dripping water, I turn around expecting the fridge to be leaking instead water is coming out of one of the recessed lights in the kitchen. I run upstairs cuz I had laundry going, the tub is overflowing with water the drain tub at the bottom wasnt working like it was supposed to. I try to call my husband to no avail of course. The kids are screaming and crying because they didnt get to go swimming, im shop vaccing the water out of the laundry machine and taking it outside not knowing if a pipe wasnt working and didnt want to pour it down the tub. had every towel soaking up water from the carpet, shop vaccing the carpet, turned off the electricty to the kitchen removed the recessed lighting and tried to dry the drywall before it got too soggy and we needed major repairs. That was a rough one. So the kids didnt get to go swimming, i finally got my front loader, and i do believe i drank a few that afternoon.

Oh yeah!!! 3 yo gets demanding and 1yo is teething, bomb of toys everywhere, hubby late from work, no spare moment for a shower.... It all adds up to me so badly wanting a glass of wine (or marg/screwdriver). Thankfully, my hubby has softball on Thursday's. On those nights the boys go to bed early and I indulge in a bottle of wine and my own dinner of Brie, salame, and French bread. A great way to wind down from the week!!

Yes I have. I recommend what my grandma use to call a "splash bath"....You can even do it in the kitchen and be naked (if your kitchen has privacy), with your robe or nice, big, fluffy towel nearby. As long as you have a good wash cloth, sponge, your favorite soaps or shower gel, you can wash up everywhere that needs it in just short time. I like to start with my face and work my way down.

This way if you need to tend to your kids, your can stop and start again. Actually it can be a refreshing experience.

Blessings.....
