I Might Be Pregnant!?

Just curious as to if any of you had problems getting a positive result from a regular store-bought pregnancy test. We think I may be pregnant asi I am having many symptoms, but have had 3 negative tests (Just in the past week!) My period lasted for about a day and was nothing much at all. Plus I've been sick as a dog.
My past pregnancies were full-term twins - which I had a positive result right away (a week after conception), and miscarriage of triplets @ 7 weeks - which I never knew I was pregnant until I was having the miscarriage.
Most of my family have had problems in the past with negative urine tests when they were pregnant. Just trying to find out if this is as prevalent as I'm hearing. I don't want to run to the doctor for nothing, but at the same time - at the rate I'm going, if I am - how many is it going to be!! We'd like to know ASAP - so obviously I'm planning a blood test but am just trying to find out if I'm just worrying too much!! Thanks in Advance for your advice!!!

What can I do next?

I honestly never had a wrong result from a PG test. My only words of wisdom is take care of yourself, and perhaps wait a week and test again to see if the HCG level is high enough to detect OR go and get the blood work done.

Good Luck

With my son, Noah, every pregnancy test was negative. I even went to Family Planning. Those were negative. I had to go get a blood test to confirm it, which was positive. I did not have this with my daughter, Ashleigh, which all tests were positive.

I would just go to the doctor. One of my friends never got a positive pregnancy result through the urine pregnancy tests. She even took one when she was eight months pregnant and it came up negative!!! I think it is just better to be safe and go to the doctor. If you aren't pregnant than there might be something else going on that the doctor will be able to help you with.

Good Luck.

hi L.. i kinda went through the same thing with this pg. i actually found a chat board on yahoo that i think is "hcgfn"-negative blood tests but still pregnant. if you go to yahoo search and type in "hcgfn" you should get it. they are such a nice group of women who have the same issues. good luck!

I had two neg store-bought pregnancy tests with my first child. For the second, I didn't even bother with a store test. I just went to the doc and had blood test. Good luck!

I took FOUR hpt's while pg with my son (now 4 1/2). All four were negative, even the one I took after I had seen him on ultrasound. I was nearly 15 weeks when pg was confirmed.

I didn't bother to take any tests while pg with my second son; just went to my ob/gyn for a blood draw. I was 20 weeks when that one was confirmed!

This past March I took an hpt which was neg. April I had blood drawn~neg....Beginning of May I took a test from the $ store~positive. Had more blood drawn~positive. I was just about 9 1/2 weeks when confirmed. I am now 12 weeks 2 days, due the end of December.

Please go see your Dr for blood work.

If you would like any more info on what I went through feel free to msg me.

ETA~ I am honestly thankful to read that there are so many women out there that have experienced the same thing. With my first I thought I was going crazy. While it sucks when everyone I talk with about it says how can you not get a + result...but at least there are others that understand. Thank you all!

I would contact the doctor's office and get a blood test done. I had 7 negative urine tests until I was 5.5 months along with twins and I only had that test done b/c I was going in for hand surgery and they tested me. I tested positive and the next week I went to the doctor's and they sent me for an ultrasound and sure enough, I was 5.5 months along with twin boys. I don't trust the over the counter tests now and my mom was the same way. If you have problems with them then don't hesitate to call your doctor and get a blood test. That's what insurance is for :o)
