I Hate Sippy Cups!

i feel like I have tried every cup out there and within about a month I start finding puddles where the cups have leaked. Does anyone have a decent cup? I should add that my kids are 2 and 3 are fully capable of drinking out of regular cups. But that is just not practical, we are on the go and I need cups that will not leak in the car or on the couch or in my purse. My kids mostly drink milk, so I like cups with some insulation as well. And they must be able to go in the dishwasher.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Have you tried making the switch to sports bottles? They can open and close them so there is no spillage - added bonus, it's a transition to a big boy/ big girl cup.

I love these.

They are an actual thermos, with a soft pop up straw under the lid. I have NEVER experienced a leak with these as long as the top is closed, unlike EVERY other pop up straw sippee cup I've used - in my experience, they ALL leaked, or the pop up straw would splash every time you opened it. These do not leak or splash. These thermoses keep drinks very cool, especially if you add an ice cube. I've taken them out to amusement parks on 90 degree days, and the drinks stay really cool. They aren't cheap, but they last forever, the kids can use them well into their school years, and they are worth every penny. Both Walmart and Target carry them.

Totally agree w/ the stainless steel sports bottles. Non-leakers and they have small ones for kids.

I just bought a Dr. Brown sippy cup and so far it has lived up to what it says--no leaks.

We literally skipped sippy cups all together. Went straight to straw cups. They close better, and the kids took to them very quickly.

I have tried LOTS of different kinds of sippy cups but always come back to Nalgene Grip-N-Gulp. They will not leak unless you put carbonated beverages in there, and a regular koozie will fit over them to keep them cool and keep little hands dry.

The other one I like is the CamelBak 0.4 liter Kids bottle - this one has a straw that folds down when not in use. Both are dishwasher safe, but I prefer the Nalgene because it is difficult to clean inside the straw (we only use water in that one!).

i agree with the straws--my 11 month old uses a playtex cup with a rubbery straw and 2 year old drinks out of a regular old water bottle.

at this age i used a Gerber cup that has a top where a straw pops out and a slid thing that you could close to make it leak proof. We use them in the car and when we traveled.

Re: the traditional sippy cup we always used the gerber standard hard sippy cups and they never leaked.... maybe you're just not pushing in the white stopper all the way?

if you are getting the ones with the soft spout they are probably biting and chewing on them so it makes holes and tears them, hence the puddles. my toddler does the same thing. but there is only one sippy cup on the market that he is actually able to drink from ( he was born with a fairly severe cleft lip and palate so he has a hard time with most sippy's and he cannot drink from a straw), so we just try to keep on him about not biting them. good luck, maybe if you havent tried already get the ones that have the hard plactic spout or the hard plastic ones that look like an adult coffee to go cup.

I LOVE Gerber cups! I have used them for my 2 kids and they are 4 and 2 yrs old. The time I have issues with leaks is when you unscrew the top to refill. Then the liquid will sometimes get inside the rim and then it will leak, otherwise I don't have issues! I love them. I have tried others and they are not as good.
