After a d&c you should wait for your first period to return on it's own before trying again - that's your signal that your body has built up it's lining and shed on it's own so it's ready to house another baby. If you're ready to try, it's safe to try at that point, but if you're not ready, then wait it out. We battled infertility, so I always tried again right after my miscarriages (I've had 4, two were d&cs). My OB always said that you're more fertile after a m/c anyway - wasn't the case for me but I know lots of women who got pg the first cycle after a d&c. Good luck, and I'm sorry for your loss.

You do not need to wait. Waiting for a regular period is to make it easier to determine your due date. Hope you feel better soon!

Your doctor should have advised you on this. My niece lost her baby May 7th. it was due in Aug.. The doctor advised her to wait at least a full year before trying again. I also had another niece lose her baby a few months back and her doctor gave her the same advice. Your body needs time to heal and rebuild nurishment..Be patient and don't get in a rush...

J.,
I am soooo sorry.about your loss. When I had my d & c I was told to wait until I had one menstrual cycle to then get pregnant again. I did it and i had a beautiful baby girl.
Let us know what happens.
Blessings,
A.

Hi J.,
I am currently pregnant and due VERY SOON with my third child. I had two miscarriages; one between my first and second child and the next between my second and third. With both of them, I waited one period and then successfully concieved again! My OB preferred for us to wait at least one, so we did, and are happy to have had successful pregnancies!! Good luck.
