I have decided to break down and buy a baby monitor. Can any of you fabulous ladies suggest one you love? I will need to move it from room to room often and one that would be easy for that would be great. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Angelcare Deluxe Movement Monitor. I wouldn't have brought my son home from the hospital without it, and I gladly would have paid 3x as much... peace of mind is PRICELESS!!

Angelcare deluxe movement sensor! This thing is AMAZING! it senses movement so if baby stops breathing (or is trying to climb out of the crib lol) you know it and you can turn settings on/off it even vibrates or tics to the baby's heartbeat... we paid like 125 but for how much worrying it saved us we'd have paid 5x that. Trust me this thing is amazing.. i know a few moms that swear it saved their baby from SIDS because the baby stopped breathing and the alarm/parents startled the baby into breathing again. Small price to pay for never having to worry about that! And it works like 200 yards out from the monitor which is amazing (with no interference).

We used the Sony one and it was great! Always worked and great reception if we were outside and a baby was asleep in the house. We never had interference issues and it's very lightweight and portable!

We bought a "fancy" video monitor one and it was pretty crappy. It made this constant transmission sound that made you nuts and we never really used the video screen to see him. I'd suggest looking for a basic one at garage sales or even a hand me down from a mom you know. :) If you buy a used one you can afford to get a couple and not move it from room to room.

Vtech digital. LOVE it! Been in several different houses and have never had interference, works through fairly thick walls, I have dropped the parent monitor and it's still working. (some pretty bad falls too) LOVE IT!

Ahhh yes I feel the same way! We have multiple friends who swear up and down by the Sony ones, so we will be trying those out. I cannot justify any of those video ones or motion sensor ones, so the Sony is going to have to cut it for us!

Summer Infant Day and Night handheld - cannot say enough good things about it! So worth it.

I had cheap ones with my first two - and with my third, I thought, well these were fine before, why not use them again? DH talked me into splurging on the handheld video monitor. LOVE it. So glad I listened to him.

BTW- What did your doc say about the lightheadedness??

My kids are older but I bought one that had the base and 3 monitors. I had one in our bedroom, living room and the kitchen. Don't they still make those so you don't have to keep moving it? That would drive me batty!!! Good luck!!!
