I Am in Need of an OBGYN Who Will Give Me Extra Attention

Dear Ladies,

I am 10 weeks pregnant. My husband and I have been through a lot to get here and now I need to find an OBGYN. I live in Sunland so I can go to Burbank, Pasadena, Glendale, or the valley. Can anyone recommend a compassionate and sensitive OBGYN to me? I need a doctor who is going to see me if I feel that I need an extra ultrasound so I can stay relaxed and feel reassured during this pregnancy. As I said, we've been through a lot to get here and I need to find a doctor who understands where we are at and who will give us the extra attention that I may need. Also, I have Blue Shield PPO.

Thank you for any help that you can give me!

A.

What can I do next?

Dr. Gallivan at Facey Mission Hills on Sepulveda between Rinaldi and San Fernando Mission is a wonderful OBGYN. If every MD was like him, everyone would be so much happier. I have blue cross that they take there.

Hope this helps, A.

Hi, this maybe a bit out of the way...the other way, downtown L.A. I lived in Valley Village and traveled to Good Samaritan Hospital to see my doctor(s). Have you seen the show, "Deliver Me" on the discovery channel (tues, 10pm)? My dr. was/is Dr. Bohn. There are two other doctors that you also meet during the pregnancy and all three of them of the BEST! I totally love them and recommended my sister who just delivered with them too. There number is ###-###-####. My commute from the valley was totally worth it. Watch the show to check them out. :)

This might be a bit far but I'd recommend John Cabrera at Glendale Memorial Hospital (office# ###-###-#### and I believe he's listed under BS-PPO). I find him to be open-minded and gentle, and I never felt rush during a visit. I saw him for my 2 pregnancies and have been satisfied both times.

Congratulations and good luck!

I adore Dr. Sharon Nelson. She delivered both of my kids, and my second pregnancy was high risk. Her staff is also wonderful. Her number is ###-###-####, and she is located on Verdugo Blvd. across the street from Verdugo Hills Hospital. Good luck with your pregnancy!

Dr. Pearson in Burbank is wonderful, he took care of me when I had complications during my pregnancy, now I have a healthy beautiful baby girl.

Dr.Terre Osterkamp in Glendale....she is awesome...I have also seen Sharon Nelson, who is wondeful as well..Dr.Osterkamp delivered my second son in June of this year and I received fabulous care from her. She works out of Huntington Hospital and Verdugo Hills. I delivered at Huntington and cannot recommend it enough...great experience! Good luck to you!! Congratulations!!

Dr Steven Hartford ###-###-#### and Dr Sharon Nelson ###-###-####, both right next to Verdugo Hills Hospital, are awesome!

I work with Dr. Joseph Mutch, next to Verdugo Hills Hospital. While I like him, he is a bit old school for some folks. Anyhow, he is in the same office as Dr. Sharon Nelson, who is fantastic as is Dr. Terri Osterkamp (again same office). I have had great experiences with the entire office. I was a bit nuerotic several times and was treated with compassion and my fears were taken seriously. Congratulations and good luck!

###-###-#### (I saw several other folks are recommending the same office)

My OBGYN is in Burbank and I adore her and her practice partner. They took me on at 16 weeks pregnant after I had some issues with my previous doctor and were fantastic. My son was born via emergency C-Section, but they are very pro-natural birth and are always willing to schedule appts. or fit you in if you need questions answered.

I live in Valencia, and drive down for my appointments to this day!

Dr. Dawn Cashie
