HPV Vaccine

Hello group,
I am wondering if anyone has done any research on the safety of the HPV vaccine? I had previously declined receiving it at my OB/Gyn's office because I have +HPV in my history and didn't see the need to vaccinate for something my body has created antibodies against. But then I read new information about the vaccine possibly preventing throat cancer (in addition to preventing cervical CA which is older information)
So, I just want to make the most well informed health decisions that I can. Anyone have an opinion on this that they can share with me?

What can I do next?

Hi, D. ~

Vaccinating is a very personal choice, and while I don't believe in pushing a person into taking on my beliefs on this topic, I also feel that it's important for individuals to have the knowledge needed to make informed decisions regarding their health! In regard to the HPV vaccine, British Columbia, Canada has *stopped* vaccinating for HPV due to the number of adverse side-effects seen with the vaccine. Also, Medical News Today filed a full report on Gardasil (the vaccine used) and reported that 3,461 complaints were filed with the FDA's Vaccine Adverse Event Report System in the first year of its use; and the numbers continue to rise. In addition, there were 11 deaths directly attributed to the use of Gardasil in the first year.

If I were making such a decision, I wouldn't want to play host to being a human Guinea pig!

Hope that helps and that you have a great day!

Hi D.!
My OB/GYN told me that you only need this vaccine if you have multiple partners. That is why they are targeting teens for this. I also read about 2 cases where it has caused the teens who got the vaccine to become paralized. One for sure that I know of has rehabilitated but has lost her volleyball scholarship. Such a sad story. Anyways, that is all the info I have on that. Hope it helps you a little bit. :.)

I would strongly advise against it.
There is a lot of good information on the website mentioned in the pervious response (Dr Mercola) I have read every bit of info I can get my hands on and have not found anything that would make me feel that this is a safe vaccine to give my daughters.

I read that it was bad. go to mercola.com, they had a big article about it. I can't remember the details. I personally wouldn't take it.
