How Would You like to Spend the Day with Your 3-Yr Old Daughter?
I am getting a rare treat this Friday night/Saturday (all day)--I get to spend solo time with my 3 year old daughter! My husband and son are going out of town for a guys' night, so it will be just us girls. Of course I asked my daughter "What do you want to do, just the two of us?" and her itinerary is so sweetly unambitious--she wants to go out to lunch, go play at the park, make some popcorn, and watch a movie. Sounds good to me!! What about you, what do you like to do when you get a girls day with your young daughter?

Sounds like she has a plan for what she wants to do with Mom. Go with it! I recently had a similar weekend for similar reasons. We went to the mall for a little shopping, specifically a new pair of sandals to show off the painted nails we did later. Being together can be simple and fun! Enjoy!!

I think you should add a special suprise. What little girl doesnt like a suprise added in? You can add in going somewhere and just getting dessert! My daughter loves when I suprise her with that. There are a lot of bakeries that sell cupcakes for a dollar or two and put it in a special box so you can eat it later, like at the playground. I also like suprise fingernail painting sessions and take your time doing something special with her hair and maybe let her pick out your clothes. You make look like a fool with crazy nail polish and clothes but who cares?! It's a super fun girl day!

I give us matching manicures, we read a story, play ball outside, pick strawberries from our strawberry patch, and watch a movie with popcorn... I love alone time with my three year old. She's at such a fun age!!!

I think her idea is perfect.
I have made a picnic, gone to a park, take some pictures of her in the pretty setting to send to relatives via email, take her to the mall to walk around or just to Target to pick out a small inexpensive toy.
Paint her nails at home.
I like the idea of you two watching a movie at home.
When she got older, I took her to lunch and to a movie she wanted to see.

That sounds like a great mother/daughter date! I have taken my 3.5 year old to the movies just recently and out to dinner and went to get her hair trimmed for a girls day. What about pedicures? Coloring? Go to Michaels or a craft store and get a craft to do together.

Mine would love to spend the day on water. We have just enough space outside for a pool that fit us both, lol, but we have so much fun. You add bubbles and water toys and you just have a super happy toddler. Make it super special by also having ice cream and pizza. If you just add shower together and go right to bed and cuddle watching tv you can call it best day ever!
Sorry I got exited and forgot to add that your daughters idea is wonderful, I think you both will have a wonderful time. Take pictures!!!!!

IF I had a daughter(I have 3 sons) I would take her to a victorian tea house for lunch and go get mani's and pedi's and then go do whatever she wanted...that is my fanasty when my boys are acting like maniacs!
