How to Tell Husband Pregnant with Number 4 - San Diego,CA

So we have 3 great kids- almost 6, almost 4 and 2.5. The older/easier # 3 gets the more my husband knows he's done having kids. But he knows and has always known I want more. I just found out yesterday I'm pregnant with #4. I couldn't be more excited but I know my husband won't be as thrilled. He won't be mad- he will probably laugh to be honest since we have had unprotected sex ONCE since #3 was born. He will have an "Are you kidding me" response.
I would love to hear some ideas on how to tell him. Since this will definitely be our last I want to tell him in a fun way. He has a great sense of humor so I would love some funny ideas. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Ooh!

Put a baby doll in his stocking on Christmas morning, with a card that says "Santa didn't plan on THIS gift..." (Or some similar quip. Lol.)

Eta: Becca gave me an idea... Make the note say, "Sorry, some assembly required. Will be finished *due date approximation."

Get tshirts for you and the kids. Each one with "1+", on them and you wear the shirt that has "+1=4!"

Maybe get yours larger so you can wear it through the pregnancy, take photos through your pregnancy with the kids every month!

Congratulations to all of you. This is about the time of year I found out I was pregnant. It was fun telling the family that Christmas.

My sister had an unexpected fourth. She had the oldest hold a sign saying "I'm the first", then "I'm the second", and the third kid held a sign saying "I'm the Last" with last crossed out and the third written underneath. She took a picture and posted it to facebook to tell everyone. It went over really well. Maybe you can do something with shirts for the kids.

While the two of you are in your kitchen, can you ask him to put a roll into the oven? Don't heat the oven first, just say "honey, can you put this in the oven for me?" and then afterwards say - wow, sweetie, you're really good at putting buns in the oven, aren't you? I don't know, I'm not feeling very creative at the moment.

When I was pregnant with our first, we told the grandparents at Christmas..... I don't remember how we told his parents, but for my parents, we found a ceramic cake topper of a stork (You know, the typical image of the stork with the blanket "sling" in his beak, holding a baby)... if I remember correctly, it even said "Guess what?" on the base...

Anyway, we wrapped that up and gave it to my parents at Christmas....

My M. got the message RIGHT away, but my dad was a bit more dense..... he was the one that actually unwrapped it.... and was looking at it, with that typical expression that you have when you don't really know what to say about the gift you were just given... "Oh, That's nice..." kind of thing.... my M. asked him.. "What is it? (trying to give him a subtle hint), and he said... "A bird...." then my M. said "What kind of bird?", and my dad said... rather puzzled... "A ..... stork?" I can still hear his voice (30+ years later) rising in surprise on the last word.

So... maybe you can find something that is a typical baby item.. (new rattles, new bottles, bib, booties, etc,) and make up a "dad's baby care kit" for him to unwrap?

I told DH on the phone "Your Christmas present arrived. It's white with two pink lines on it."

I should have done it in person. He nearly wrecked the car.

The first one (my angel, that we lost), I put baby booties in his sock drawer and waited for him to find them.

My hubby was there when I found out I was pregnant both times. But I told my best friend that "You will never guess what happened last night. Someone snuck into the doctors office and killed my rabbit." We had been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half also.

If you can wait till Christmas, I definitely like the idea of something under the tree. Maybe a rattle, a binky, and a pack of diapers along with a box of condoms.

Whatever you put in his "gift," I think a box of condoms should go along with it. Condoms are just inherently funny.

He might need to open this gift the night before, when the kids aren't around. ;)

Get everyone a baseball jersey for Christmas and wrap them all together in one box, but Dad gets to open it. Write a note that is a tag on Dad's jersey that your family is the infield for your team. Make a field with photos or drawings of one family member at each of the positions. Dad is pitcher (#1) and Mom is catcher (#2), first child is first base (#3), second child is second base (#4), third child is third base (#5) and coming child is shortstop (#6). If you are not aware, when keeping score for baseball, those are the numbers that represent those particular positions. Put the corresponding numbers onto the jerseys. You can be the San Diego Sparklers or use your last name as the team name.

Then you can tease him that you need an outfield. :)
