How to Remove Coffee Stain from Carpet
My daughter spilled some coffee (cold had been in the cup for a day or so) on our carpet in the foyer of our home. It wasn't a huge spot so I dabbed to it to clean it up and then sparyed it with carpet cleaner. I have tried to clean it up 4 times and after each time it looks clean until it dries and then the stain has actually gotten larger. Any suggestions of what I can clean it with that will not make the stain spread any larger? I have been using professional grade Electrulux carpet cleaner.

I use a carpet cleaner called Folex. You can purchase it at WalMart and Target - about $5 for a 32 oz bottle. I have yet to have a stain on my carpet that it did not remove. Good luck!

I had the same problem a month ago, only it was a full cup of espresso, cold with milk, on white carpet. I could not get it out fully and it often came back. I used Folex as suggested by Mamasource patrons. Did not work. Also used Resolve with Oxy and that helped, but it came back after it dried also. I did not try the Metalucil (sp?) as suggested, but you can find it online, it's environmentally safe. The carpet was coming up the following week for hardwood floors to be put in, so I was lucky. Best of Luck.

Hello,
If you use Shaving cream that should bring the stain out.
Good Luck

I like Woolite rug cleaner and a clean sponge with a clean towel to blot. I have had trouble with Resolve and some other brands spreading the stain.

I have found that putting rubbing alcohol on a clean white cloth & gently rubbing will take out a lot of stains. I have not tried it on coffee
Good Luck
