How to (Make Your "Butt" Bigger)

This may sound like a ridiculous question to some but I have a really really hard time gaining weight and it seems to disapear in my butt area first! I have always had a thin frame and I am fine with that but before I had my son, I had the greatest behind and I want it BACK, no pun intended! Does anyone know ways or sugestions for toning, gaining weight or getting a bigger butt? Please help!

What can I do next?

We're almost twins ha ha. I'm also licensed and I have a toddler that will be 3 in december, and a baby that is 7 months old :P. I too have had a small frame but, after baby #2 I have a bigger booty these days. I think Glute workouts are great but I think just in general having a bit more weight on gives me a little more "junk in the trunk" for lack of a better phrase ha ha. Where did you go to hair school?

Step aerobics is a great work out for that general region!

I am not sure how you can get this area more how you like but I do know jeans or pants with pockets or embellishment help give it more shape.( saw that on Oprah!) Good luck!

Hi B.,

I'm a personal trainer, as well as a fitness competitor, here are my suggestions...

Squats: You will need to tire out that behind muscle! Choose a heavy weight and do at least 3 sets of 12. On the last set, and last repetition exceed the 12, and go till you are tired.

Deadlifts: These are a great lower back move, as well as glute move. 3 sets of 10-12 here with a heavy weight as well. Using a lighter weight will cause you to cut the muscle, but tiring out the muscle will gradually give you a build.

Short Distance Sprints: Ever notice how sprinters have great behinds? I never knew til I realized its because of their sprints! Short distance sprints of about 100 m will get that butt booming

Lunges: Lots of lunges as well both with weights and without. The weights with these do not necessarily have to be heavy. Do stationary, walking, side lunges. These will help to target both your glute and legs.

Lastly, all of these factors work hand in hand with diet! 5-6 meals a day, especially since you say you have a thin frame and a hard time gaining weight, you could even get away with eating 6-7 meals a day.

Hope this helps! You can message me if you have any questions. Wish you the best of luck on getting that booty back!

Squats!!!!!!!!!! and lots of them.

It takes time to get a booty. I was always super skinny too. Not so much any more after two kids :( I never had a butt until the first child. But what you can do is exercises that utilize every big muscle group in that area. These are lunges of any kind, squats of any kind, climbing stairs, standing up and holding on to something and lifting your legs behind you. Keep doing those and you should have some development, just be patient. And you can work this body part twice a week,

My sister used to do a glutes workout. When she doesn't do it, her butt is totally flat! I think she just lays on her stomach and lifts her legs at the hip.

My butt had started to go flat and I started doing spin classes. My butt totally came back. I love spin class. Or you can just do some workouts that work that area-like squats and things like that, but trust me-spin class works!

Let me just say that a lot of us wish that we had your problem. No answers here, it just happens naturally for most of us, it is stopping it that is the challenge. Good luck, I hope you get what you want.
