I wouldn't risk alternative remedies unless the item doesn't mean that much to you and the fabric isn't delicate. I would just take it to a dry cleaner and let them handle it.

Unless it's silk or satin I can't imagine water staining anything...I suggest you toss it in the washer on delicate or the hand wash cycle and see what happens. Worst case scenario is that it comes out worse than it went in, best case is that it comes out fixed.

I have washed silk and satin in the washer. It came out fine. The silk lost some of its sheen but it was still intact and wearable. The satin was fine once it dried on a hanger. Then I pressed it on the wrong side and put some Sizing or light starch on the fabric as I pressed it. By misting the spray on the inside it didn't leave any residue or trace where it can be seen.

I don't know about water stains unless the fabric is fragile and dry clean only. You mentioned knowing about water stains so I thought you had posted a previous question. No. So what are water stains and what fiber.are the clothes made of?

If the clothes are washable,.have you tried washing them with a product that removes stains? If they're not washable, take them to a dry cleaners. If you've washed them and not dried them ask a dry cleaners for suggestions. If you've dried them in a dryer there may not be anything you can do.

Please give us more information.

I googled water stains so I have an idea of what you mean. I found several sites with suggestions on how to remove them, depending on what has caused them. I have experienced spots on my clothes. They were either caused by dryer sheets/fabric.or grease/oil. I stopped using both several years ago and don't remember.how I removed them. I use.Dawn or a.stain remover product to remove them.

I suggest you google.this question.for ideas.

I don't know why new clothes would have water stains.
