Hey ladies!! figure'd i'd be a pro at this now since this will be baby number 4 if God willing everything goes ok (i've had 5 pregnancy so far w/ only 3 kids.. so this is pregnancy #6) I took a home test on January 5th and it was negative.. i re-tested January 12th and it was positive.. so would that mean i would be about 5 weeks?? I dont remember when my last period was. I wanna say Nov 7th.. but i know that would be too long for me to not know that i was prego or even too much for a home prego test to not have picked up on it.. I'm assuming i should be due sometime in Sept. but i never understand how to calculate b/c i'm plus size my periods were usually messed up n e how and my dr. would normally have to do an internal untrasound to calculate how far along i was.. just wondering if n e one can help me out.. i appreciate it. thanks :)

What can I do next?

The only way to really know is see your doctor but keep in mind there is the chance that you are farther along and the test didn't pick it up the first time. It does happen. Also, as a fellow plus sized momma, I can tell you that you may have ovulated later than 14 days after the start of your period...its actually quite common. For example, I generally have a 30-32 day cycle and I don't ovulate until about a week before my period starts. Good luck!

One of the things you might want to do in these early stages is to get a copy of PAIN FREE WOMEN by Pete Egoscue. One of the things I KNOW, as a posture alignment and pain management specialist, is that in many cases of miscarriages, and especially repeated miscarriages, is that the position of the pelvis is not necessarily capable of carrying the child to term and thus, a miscarriage.

This book helps you go thru EACH trimester and the issues you deal with in order to keep you properly "positioned" and out of pain and discomfort as you carry the child to full term.

I like this calculator. (http://www.due-date-calculator.com/) But, you need to know how long your periods are, when the last one started, and on what day of your cycle you normally ovulate. (The luteal phase is the number of days from when you ovulate will the day you start your period.)

This calculator has worked well for me and friends who keep track of that stuff. As for the pregnancy test, they have always been slow in picking up I was pregnant. And the ultrasounds also have questionable accuracy.

Good luck!

If you can figure out your last period, subtract 3 months to find the month and add 7 days to find the actual date. My cycles are off too (normally 35 days), so the dr always does an early ultrasound. Good luck!

Any idea when you ovulated, had sex and conceived? That's a better indication of how far along you are. If you know ovulation date or conception date (probably within a couple days of ovulation), then you can just get on line and use a due date calculator to find your due date based on ovulation.

You'd really need to know when your last period was to calculate weeks. If you google predicting due date, there are plenty of sites where you can put that info in and it will give you the # of weeks you are. If your last was novemeber you'd more aound 9-10 weeks. But since you were negative the 5th but positive the 12th, you probably are about 5-6 weeks.
