My daughter had an accident in her bed when her pullup leaked and her dreamlite is soaked with pee. It says surface wash only, but, there is a whole lot more than surface stink!! anyone else had this happen? any ideas on what to do?

Thanks in advance for you help!!

I thought maybe I would call the company tomorrow if I need to.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I found screws on the bottom, and so when I was trying to take them out and having problems, my husband says...oh, this just pops off. He took the top of the light box off and all the insides out. Now I can stick it in the washer with Oxi and it will be good to go. Thanks for the help!

You might be able to wash it and hang it to dry. I've washed socks with blinky lights and they've been fine. I have washed tons of stuffed animals in the washer even though they say surface wash and they all came out fine.
Night wetting isn't a training issue, it is completely a physical maturity issue. The signals aren't there to keep her bladder from making urine at night when it should be stopping.
Throwing it out and using it as incentive to potty train isn't going to work and only make her feel even worse for having an accident.

You can try soaking it in enzymatic cleaner like they make for pet urine (the pet one actually also works for human urine). Spray it with a large amount of the cleaner so it soaks into the filling.

Another approach would be surface clean the plush, open up a seam and take out and replace the filling.

But honestly.... I would just toss and replace. Accidents happen and no amount of motivation will stop nighttime accidents...

Good luck.

If it's going in the trash if it doesn't get clean then you don't lose anything by washing it. It probably won't light up anymore but it will still be a stuffed animal for them.

I think you would have to throw it away.

I would probably end up getting rid of it and not replacing it until she's fully potty trained at night. Maybe it can be an incentive to motivate her to potty train?

I bought my son the pillow that lights up, brain fart can't remember the name. I'm sure you have seen the commercials. Anyway the pillow is white and got dirty over time (car trips, spills etc) so I just took the batteries out and machine washed it, then tossed it in the dryer. I was sure it was not going to work anymore but I tried my luck and placed batteries in it, switched it to "on" and it works like new. I am not saying to go ahead and do it, because all pillows are different? And I would not want to be to blame. Just giving you my experience and what happened in our pillows case. HTH
