Congratulations. Just keep in mind it is a touch early so it is possible for her to have been wrong. But normally they are right. Girls are so much fun.
Hey Ladies, I am 18 weeks pregnant and have an ultrasound scheduled today. Is this too early to see what we are having? What is the earliest anyone has found out what they were having?
Thanks.
The Ultrasound Tech is pretty sure it is a HEALTHY GIRL!!!! We are very excited for this addition since we already have a little boy! Thanks for all the comments.

I dont know where you read youcan't find out at 18 weeks. I found out at 18 weeks. Plus if she cant see because the baby is uncoapperative you can get a genetic test from cvs but one of my friends told me that that test for 40 dollars didn't give her accurate test. I have heard to get a amnio tells the truth but there risky for just that. You just wait patiently i remember when i was 18 weeks and now i am 30. I hope the tech is wrong about my sex of the baby Good luck enjoy the pregnancy!!
At my doctor's, it is 18-20 weeks.
I had about 6 ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy. Each time it was confirmed that I was having a little girl. I already had a daughter & so I didn't have to buy much except another crib & bedding. At 34 weeks, I got a sneak peek by a friend, & whammo, it was a boy without any doubts! I rushed back to exchange bedding in town 2 hours away & Dr. told me after that I was to stay close to town. So, be prepared for a surprise anyway! :D
If the baby cooperates and you have a really good ultrasound tech, 16 weeks is the earliest the sex can be determined. At 16 weeks my baby did not cooperate, so at my 20 week appointment we found out the sex. Good luck and I hope you get your answer today!
I had multiple ultrasounds with my number 1 - and she was NEVER in a position which we could determine sex - so while I wanted to know -the element of surprise was really exciting!!
With my 3rd - I had to have a Level II sonogram at 17-18 weeks and it was much more inclusive - they had to scan every body system - and it was clear I was having a girl...
It all depends on position of the baby - the skill of the scanner.... good luck!!
You should be able to. Its usually around 20 weeks... But sometimes baby doesn't cooperate and is laying in positions that you can't see what they do and do not have. :-)
So....did you find out??
Most probably today will find out :-)
Good Luck
My sister is an ultrasound tech. We have seen the sex of our babies as early as 14 weeks. Of course we double check it later but I would say 18 weeks is a shoe in if you have a cooperative Ultrasound tech who's not afraid to shake the belly a bit if baby is being too modest. Exciting!! Good luck!
18 weeks is the earliest that anyone can RELIABLY find out the sex. Some doctors are more comfortable waiting until 20 weeks though. Some find out earlier, but again is the reliability factor, gender differences are harder to tell so early.
i have found out via ultrasound with my high risk OB right around 12/13 weeks with all three of mine. you should be able to find out today, good luck!
I found out at week 12 with my daughter and week 13 with my son.
They usually ultrasound around 19 weeks. Like Beth said, babies don't always cooperate, and there are stories of babies who come out a different gender than what ultrasounds show (based upon their position). Usually, it's quite obvious.
My husband and I may be the only people left who wanted to wait for the surprise.
