How Soon Can I Tell I'm Pregnant?

My husband and I have just started trying to have a baby. How long do I have to wait before a pregnancy test will tell me I'm positive? I can't go by mmissing my period, because my cycle has always been unpredictable.

What can I do next?

Sometimes you can tell as early as 10-12 days after ovulation. Some HPT's may be more sensitive than others.

Have you tried to track your period at all? Mine would go from every 28 days to every 32 days. I just started tracking the first day of my period every single month (put a calendar sheet on your desk or some place you will see every day if need be to help you remember). This might help you see a pattern and then you will know when to take a test. I also used the Clear Blue Easy ovulation sticks to track when I ovulated, once you figure that out wait for about 2 weeks after that to take a pregnancy test. Good luck!

I think that a positive test can usually be detected like 10 days after conception, although you may get a false negative if you test that early. They usually say about 2 weeks after conception.

Also, don't stress about it too much if you aren't pregnant right away. The average time to conceive a child is 6 months, so don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away.

If your cycle is unpredictable, and you really feel the necessity to do a test, do it.
Otherwise, try after 1 month of your latest period.

Good luck!

You would show up pregnant on a test roughly two weeks after conceiving. You typically concieve when you ovulate if you can figure that out you'd have some kinda time line to predict. Or if in doubt I just KNEW I was pregnant it was the strangest feelings like a period but differnet and worse. Cereal and brushing my teeth made me sick to my stomach. Good Luck!

If your cycles are so unpredictable I would invest my $ into ovulation kits, then you know when your ovulating forsure and test 10 days later for a + pg test. Good luck!
