I agree with the previous posters, but I think my little hungry dude also had a second serving of cereal at dinner, so his day went:
Breakfast: cereal and fruit
Lunch: fruit and veggie
Dinner: cereal and veggie

I don't know if this was good or bad, but at 6 months my boy was eating a number 2 jar of food with ceral at each meal, along with nursing on demand.

Hi. At your sons age, he should be have 3 meals. I am really suprised he is not wanting more(my daughter ate almost a full jar of #2 foods(granted I made my food, so I am just estimating).Yes, fruit with cereal for breakfast, veggie at lunch, and fruit and veggie at dinner. That is how I did it. It really depends on your baby, not all babies eat that much. He seems to be thriving on formula which is great that he is drinking well.:) My kids were strictly on all table food by 10 months. You can start adding new foods in moderation as you please. Remember to give at least 3 days of the new food before trying another new food.
Good luck, and enjoy.

If you are not sure ask the pediatrician. If you feel your son is still hungry then give him some more at lunch. it is all common sense. Not to be sarcastic. It sounds like he is doing well. I know that they should still be drinking so much formula until they are a year old. You could probably go online and see what the recommendations are. every baby is different so do what you think is right.

The main thing a baby should be getting is formula with the iron and nutrients. As long as your baby is getting 24 ounces a day, in whatever combination it takes. What I did with my kids, and each parent is going to be different, is this schedule:
Breakfast -
oatmeal
8 oz formula
Lunch -
fruit
8 oz formula
Dinner -
veggie
8 oz formula
Add more as long as the formula intake does not reduce. For instance, instead of a 1/4 cup solid go up to 1/2 cup, if the 8 oz formula can still be finished after the solids.
Optional is to slowly start adding morning and afternoon snacks inbetween meals if they get hungry inbetween. Work your way up to 8 oz juice/water mixed for the two snacks with crackers, as they get older.
For now, focus on the three main meals and up the solid intake as long as they're finishing off their full bottles. Every baby will be different so just adjust as you go and don't be in a hurry to change things as long as they're meeting their formula intake and are full. Slowly add more solids as time goes.
